Hello fellow scoundrels, mercenaries and all around consummate professionals. A potentially profitable conflict looms over the horizon and, while the details are not out yet, I would very much like to get the ball rolling on wanton speculation. Will we protect The Strip from aggression and simply observe the chaos? Will we attempt to strike out at the others for fun and profit? Will we take and/or be offered contracts by major powers to help tip the scales one way or the other? I was also not present on this side during the last conflict, as Ariadna has me on retainer for defensive operations, so I would love to get to know the brass, or in this case, upper management. Scheme, speculate, negotiate and plot away
I believe we'll respect the contracts we'll take, as always. Job is job, after all, and we're those who 'll make it done.
Maybe a repeat of Kurage, where Japan bought exclusive contracts with every single merc force in the human sphere? Makes absolutely no sense, but it didnt make sense the first time either. Either that or adding NA2 sectorials to factions (JSA to PanO, Dashat or Ikari to YJ, Starco to Nomads, etc), but having one non-merc sectorial as part of NA2 really limits what can be done with the as NA2 faction acting as a whole.
It doesn't make much sense to lump them all together. Ironically it would be to do the thing people lose their s@!t about. Hire out to other factions.
I can't imagine it being too difficult to simply add all NA2 as "sectorial" options for each faction. Sure it wouldn't be quite as fun as being hired independently on a per-mission basis but the ability to take long-term contracts would be fun
The plan was for each NA2 player to be able to pledge themselves to a faction of your choosing, but the OTT campaign platform wasn't really capable of this.
That's a bummer. There's parts of Human Edge that *are* Ikari Co's home turf. I imagine they'd be interested in defending that.
If I remember my the fluff Noyvv Bangkok is home to some sort of Ikari Weapons Cache and there some other secret Ikari stuff there to.
I'm really hoping that NA2 players are actually allowed to mercenary themselves out. While Ikari obviously has huge interest in the region, I'd be surprised if the purpose of the campaign was to push them out... If anything, it'll shape which factions end up with future Ikari contracts.
Well, I picked Ikari because they're my most recent painted army. Looks like I'm committing to Harry's Bar now!
