Hello everyone, I'm just getting into Shasvasti and I think it's interesting that we only have one Core Fireteam option, the Nox. I come from a Haqq/JSA background where if I don't have a special plan for my Core, I'll usually a run a cheap "castle" to generate orders and provide some ARO presence. However with Ghulams I can do something like doc/sniper/missile or doc/sniper/sniper for a measly 70ish points and 1-2 SWC. For Nox we're looking at 80ish points and 3 SWC to do something similar and that feels far less practical, particularly for a sectorial that a lot of tasty things to spend SWC on. It feels very easy to make Shas lists without a Nox core and only using one of their Haris options but that feels a little like a missed opportunity since one of the main advantages of Sectorials is the ability to use fireteams. Aside from the somewhat obvious options of providing a 4 man escort for Corax or Sheskin how do you guys like to run your Nox?
Last time i played this core. Sheskin leadering group cleaning the rout, lgl nox as tactical tool, the rest to complete missions. Thor rest of the list filled with other troops to control table. Just in case you didn't see it, here's a link to a thread you might find useful as well: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/playing-shasvasti-sektorial-without-fireteams.34584/ It talks about foregoing Cores for a Haris, in addition to the titular topic.
I'd generally only use a Nox core defensively, keeping them well back from the enemy and out of harms way, with a T-Drone in there for fire support, as well as maybe a Nimbus LGL to cover the advance of my actual heavy hitters. I have done the Sheskiin thing with them a few times, but it was always a pain to drag those guys around, and I found she could easily be more effective on her own than with the squad (slightly less numbers in shooting, but much more mobile and threatening) Haasht is a consideration given he can start in positive range and is much better at shooting than a Nox, but again he's a dude who wants to move forward, not hang back.
I use the Core as a 2 or 3 Nox with Sheskiin and as she works her way across the board she will drop them off to cover areas and do objectives. When Sheskiin is done dropping the kids off she can cut loose.
