Hello! I was looking at making a JSA table and I love the Sunomata terrain from Warsenal . It looks amazing and really captures near future traditional Japanese building aesthetics. But it seems limited as far as building variety goes. Does anyone know of any other terrain companies that make sci fi Japanese buildings that would work well the warsenal stuff? Or is there a recommended shoppers list for the sunomata terrain to get a good table set up? Like X number of this and Y number of that kinda thing? Thanks :)
It's less traditional, but PlastCraft has a good range of small buildings. Looks a lot like a shopping street in modern Japan. For a more interesting idea, you can get some of the 4Ground historical Japanese buildings and add some solar panels to the roofs. I'm totally ripping off the concept of an Intellectual Village. Add in some other solar panels on the sides of the roads, etc.
The Plastcraft stuff was appealing until i realized that it was sheets of plastic that were pre painted. I was hoping for a fully MDF table. But the modernization of traditional japanese buildings might be the way I have to go. That's a super interesting idea. Hexagonal solar panels and such. I'll look into it some more. Thank you :)
You can also have a look at TT Combat range. They have some interesting building and accessories like toori gates, bridge ...
I just this last week ordered some of the Red beam designs Neo Kyoto stuff to start a JSA table. I've not tried any of their stuff before but it looks pretty good.
Maybe not exactly what you are looking for but one in our group often run some variation on this table. JSA village on paradiso. Rocks are hand made from styrofoam.
Those toori gates are super promising. As are a couple other things in their line. Thanks! This stuff is great! Definitely not enough to make a table but super awesome for bolstering the warsenal stuff. Definitely going to use those pagodas and a few of their buildings. Thank you. Where did you get the buildings and especially those walls? The ones round the top left corner? Those are great!
It's no my board, it's another one in our group so I don't really know but I'll ask him when I get the opportunity. What I can say is that the walls are colored plastic and and there is a working gate. The buildings are prepainted and the roof is removable on most of them.
Here's my JSA table. I find that it doesn't take a whole lot of specific buildings to make your setup thematic. I focused on the Customeeple objective, Torii archways, and home made statue to swing mine into the Japanese theme. The rest is basically just the paint, and thematic scatter (like cherry trees)
@FrozenMittens Found the walls while I was looking for something else: https://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/product/asian-fencing-set/
The buildings seem to be from Bandua: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...epainted-terrain-designed-for-infinity.22433/
Awesome! Thank you :) Where did you get the massive pagoda?!?!?! That thing is amazing. Also using the purple onto of the roof of one of the buildings, really ties it together. This table it beautiful. Awesome! Thank you :) I"m getting a nice collection of companies that produce terrain now. Are there any others that i'm missing?
@FrozenMittens Thank you. The Pagoda is a Custommeeple product. They actually have a full line of neat Japanese walls too. I just made mine out of MDF Baseboard with posters glued on. #cheap
Also traditional, but Tre Games has a Japanese Small Temple Gate that would fit https://www.tregames.com/collections/28mm-structures/products/28mm-japanese-small-temple-gate
Is it weird how much I love the Watermill building?..... cause that thing is super adorable. That Temple Gate is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! You guys are all awesome!!!!! If any more companies come to mind, please post about them. But I think I have enough here to start compiling a proper table :)
Another company specially interesting if you are in the USA: GameCraft Mini Take a look at the 28 mm section, specially the scifi future wars and the scenery items; they have torii gates and more.
