So, a question came up in today's game. I had a Nikoul go out of the Foxhole and move in it's S2 form to the edge of the LOS block provided by the central objective room (played Engineering Deck). Then I used another order to enter the Foxhole to peek out beyond the corner of the central room. My enemy declared that he has LoS to my Sapper and wanted to declare ARO. After some argument we came to the agreement (to dissatisfaction of my opponent) that the state happens at the end of the order (due to such examples as entering SF state or entering Camo, which happen at the end of the order). But the question remains When does a model that declares Sapper skill change it's Silhouette? In the resolution step of the order, or earlier?
It happens at the end of the order. You declare Sapper, ask for AROs, your opponent has none, and then in the resolution, place your 40mm base down. This is a pretty standard tactic to move up safely and the pop out with the larger base for shooting.
