Hi, I recently tried the classic EVO + Fugazi combo, and I fell in love. Between that and the Deva AHD, I decided to brew up a Drone-Heavy list and abuse Repeater nets.

It looks like a lot of fun, especially with the Garuda. But at the same time, the Garuda is my most questionable slot. There are three great options that fit perfectly:

The Garuda is great for dropping in, especially with there being an EVO in the list.

At the same time, the Peacemaker could be very powerful, rushing the backline after ARO pieces are cleared. Not to mention the benefits of being a midfield-deployed repeater and being an Overclocked Shotgun unit (assuming the Overclock doesn't hit the Auxbot's flamethrower too) with the EVO. The drawback is that the unit is sometimes tricky to deploy safely if you're going Second.

Then you have even further debate thanks to the Bolt, adding a Killer Hacker and E/M mines. Plus the current ITS benefit of forward deployment lets you put the Bolt in a good spot.

Lots of interesting options, for sure. I'm looking forward to testing this list soon, and I'd welcome any feedback offered.

A Garuda AND a Peacemaker (so you can drop into Repeater range more easily and put Supportware onto your attack remote) is the ideal combo.

Funnily enough my biggest concern is that you don't have a PalBot for your Engineer. I'd consider ditching the Auxilia and taking a CSU (the 12 pt Rifle/Shotgun/Nanopulser/Specialist combo of awesome) AND that PalBot. That way your base line defense unit ALSO serves as a reserve for the Fusilier Fireteam (CSUs are SO GOOD for NCA now).

But that list, as it stands, is very similar to lists I've run successfully for NCA. I'd say put it on the table and go!

That could be a solid combo, for sure. I could even potentially replicate it by using the Bulleteer's speed to get to the midfield pre-drop.

I just found out that Overclock buffs both the Peacemaker AND the Auxbot, which would give me a burst 2 shotgun and a b2 heavy flamethrower. I think I kinda dig it, lol.

Solid call on the swap to Csu; it's just hard for me to stop using the Auxilia. I love the unit so much. CSU is likely more optimal, though.

I love Auxilia too, but it's hard to justify them anymore if you haven't already added two CSU.

Maybe, especially with Csu being linkable with Fusiliers. I just love being able to scoot my Auxbot around a corner to basically suicide strike a tricky model while not losing the order.

Plus it looks so cool, lol.

I played the list below in a tournament last Saturday. It does incredibly well every time I play it, though it can be fragile. The best way to play bots is to saturate the table with threats and support all the repeaters they have with a large quantity of cheap hackers in ARO.

Nice list! Have you considered trying to fit in the AHD-Lightning Deva instead of doubling up on Fusilier Hackers or using the Hexa? It's an incredible model, and I find that the Hidden KHD aspect of the Hexa is less strong lately, since opponents likely figure you'll have one with this many hackers. Having the second Fusilier Hacker does let you run more support ware though, so it's not like having 2 Fusi Hackers is bad. I just love the Deva and am looking forward to running it.

I also worry that the fragility you're running into comes from not having long-range weaponry, along with not having much backup in case your killbots die. You have a Sierra HMG, but that's about it. There's nothing here to take out a long-range ARO piece or tank hits, minus either the Garuda Drop (if successful) or if the target is hackable.

In addition, does the Fireteam bonus even go to Hackers? From what I'm reading, it doesn't seem to be the case. Without your swc being spent in this squad, you're running a five-man link for nothing. Meanwhile the Garuda is eating up 1.5 SWC, which feels a bit too centralized when it could use a Combi or Boarding Shotgun. Putting Marksmanship on a Combi Garuda is still very powerful, allowing you to spread the SWC out some more.

I'm a bit bored at work, so here's an idea that I came up with. Keep in mind that I tend to put support/ARO units near the bottom of each group (for no real reason lol), so the layout is a bit different from yours:

^This list swaps the Hexa to a Deva, along with changing the Garuda to a Combi Garuda to give the Fusilier squad an HMG. The list is also a bit greedy with the Fusi link; since they will only pop out as a backup/long range hunter squad, I removed the Paramedic to fit in the second Hacker. I also removed the Forward Observer so that you can have two Combi Fusis for your opponent to guess which is the LT, but that's optional.

Alternatively, you can remove the second hacker and the HMG, adding in a Sniper or Missile Launcher for ARO backup while keeping the long range option. The paramedic would go back in as well. Personally I think the HMG is more than enough as a backup longer-range kill piece, but I also wanted to keep the extra Fusi Hacker more than I wanted the Sniper. Your call there. I'd go for the Sniper over the Missile Launcher since your ARO options are pretty covered by Overclock.

You can also, of course, keep the Hexa instead of the Deva to get the extra 0.5 swc back. I just am in love with the Deva, and I think it's extremely powerful in this type of list.

Either way, both options for the above have additional backup thanks to the Fusi Link having some SWC. It gives the list a bit more backbone and less fragility.

I really considered adding a Deva. It's a VERY strong option and will be useful, but I also wanted the ARO support of the Hexa KHD. It's also a clutch attack piece or specialist. To be honest I think either route is worth exploring.

I also play the fusiliers in a link or out depending on what the opponent is trying to do. The link isn't really adding much other than movement in late game.

Doesn't the Deva offer similar ARO support, though? Along with adding even more targets you can hit with AROs, including HIs?

It does, but without the hidden deploy opportunity. I've also had trouble getting the Deva AHD out of total cover at times since it has a BSG instead of a combi.

Honestly, the Deva is the better option, but i was playing some missions and some opponents that I thought the TO would be more effective.

That makes a decent amount of sense to me; thanks for the answer. With you using the Hexa as a potential backup kill piece, would the suggested Fusilier link changes alleviate the need for that?

This was my struggle as well. After the profile popped, I was jazzed to give it a run. I tried it half a dozen-ish times, and it always felt to me, the 28 pts could have been better spent. I face OCF, and nomads often, and maybe it was the match ups, or simply my inability to leverage that profile, but it never did much for me. Prolly my inability...

I play the link (if at all) depending on need. If there is no reason to have them out of total cover guarding the back of the deployment zone then it's not worth it to bunch them up in a link. If I need them to move and get objective work done, then I start them in a link.

Did you run a ton of repeaters like the lists in this thread?

Right, but I'm referring to the list suggestion where the SWC is moved around to give the Fusiliers an HMG or Sniper, giving you further kill/specialist backup in the midgame. I'm asking about comparing the logistics of that Fusilier option as a backup piece vs using the Hexa for that role, lol.

Oh yes, good question. I think a Fusilier with an SWC weapon in a link with several hackers can sometimes shoot you in the foot. In active turn if that HMG (or ML or MSR) are out in view of anything (and potentially HD units), then when you buff a bot with the hacker the HMG could get shot at for free. So you have to play positioning games that can sometimes reduce the order efficiency.

It's really about how you want to use that link if you form it. If it's there to move and shoot, then an HMG is pretty useful, but may not come out of hiding until your turn. So it looses it's ARO options. Another option is to fill the group with CSUs and have the hackers be separate. That way you have the best of both worlds.

Lastly, it's pretty awesome to have a 4 man+ link with hackers with that many repeaters since you can utilize sixth sense to delay your ARO while things pass through that repeater network.

I did. While I love the repeater net concept, I simply cannot get much out of it with NCA. It always felt like I'm burning orders to set the net up, while my opponent is hitting buttons, or whatever. I've found the crappy ol fusie HD does the best for me. Believe it or not, I've had my best repeater net successes with locust AHD, but those are prolly stories for a more masochistic thread.

I have found the Hexa KHD to be a great specialist and backup combat unit (especially for late game midfield combat and defensive fighting against aggressive attack pieces left forward) and would be reluctant to drop it entirely from any remote based list.

Ah the great joy of NCA. Swiss guard HMG domination paired with a 16 order list. lol

Even in a REM heavy list you still want some heavy hitters. Garuda and even Orc HMG can be good options.

    Thanks for the answer!

Yeah the intent with the HMG Fusi would be to keep it hidden until midgame as a backup/support, unless an opportunity to use it came up. I really dislike using HMGs in ARO. This was also part of why I removed the Paramedic; they are hidden most of the game, so I figured the paramedic wasn't as useful.

I feel like your list already has some strong ARO options thanks to Overclock alone, plus the repeaters. So maybe the HMG Fusi wouldn't need to do ARO duty?

Solid point on Sixth Sense! Probably comes in handy against link teams, or killer hackers.

Wait, how many orders were you spending? I figured a command token coordinating the Pathfinder and Fugazis would be enough, or another combination, maybe two tokens+orders at worst.

Very much true. The TO is fantastic. I still lean towards the Deva due to the strength of AHD-lightning plus the Deva itself, but you guys have made me wonder about the Hexa again.

Right? It's basically a mini Tag plus tons of orders and backup, lol. Not to mention the repeater net, or how Overclock is great.

Which way do you lean on the list in the OP for the flex slot? Peacemaker is solid thanks to Overclock confirmed working on Flamethrowers, but the Garuda is spicy. Or even a Bolt for E/M and the KHD.

I usually use the peacemaker and bulleteers to setup good repeater coverage. Buleteers are especially good at this considering they have the ability to shoot their way into position.
