I "accidentally" ordered the Wildfire starter. So now I've got to make an army! I have a few CA models in my collection, so I included them – an Anathematic and Kerr-Nau – and bought a Speculo as well. We don't really use sectorials, since me and my mates only play a few times a year (too advanced for our small brains). Hence I thought I'd proxy the Gwailo as a Maakrep. Does this seem reasonable? Shasvastii ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 10 SPECULO KILLER Boarding Shotgun, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Monofilament CCW, Knife. (1 | 34) MENTOR Lieutenant Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 22) CALIBAN Engineer Submachine Gun, Pulzar, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife, CC Weapon. (0 | 28) SLAVE DRONE Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) ANATHEMATIC Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Monofilament CCW. (2 | 81) KERR-NAU (UPGRADE: White Noise) Plasma Rifle + Pitcher, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) SHROUDED (Minelayer) Boarding Shotgun, Dazer / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 24) NOX Combi Rifle, Zapper / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) NOX (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Zapper / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) NOX (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, Zapper / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 15) MAAKREP TRACKER HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 33) GROUP 2 1 ÍMETRON . (0 | 4) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army
Why the Imetron in group 2? Doesn't seem like you could do anything with it (being equipment, you can't move it to a different combat group with a command token). You could get rid of it and take your 14 pt nox and upgrade it to a paramedic, gaining another specialist and possible heal.
I must say that I'm a bit disappointed that your avatar is not a key... As for the list...hmmm, I'd drop the Imetron, upgrade the Anathematic to a Plasma rifle (higher potential wounds), and bring another slave drone. They aren't doing much of anything since you don't really have remotes or a TAG, but they can fix IMM and clear mines/madtraps. Additionally, I'd see what you can do about having 3 attack pieces (Speculo, Ana, Maakrep). Maybe sidegrade the Maakrep to the sniper rifle for a better ARO? Q-drones are hands-down the best TR bots in the game. Buy a remote box if you haven't already and field one in every list ;).
I do have the Yog.0 pic from Netrunner saved somewhere, though I decided I wanted a face ;-) Thanks a lot! The slave drone is in there because I originally wanted a Sphinx, but it was hard to fit and get to a full order group. I might have to go out and buy a remote box then ...
I ordered one box to start with. I'll try them out a few times before deciding if I want more! Do you guys usually bring multiples of a particular drone?
In shasvastii, only the Ikadron. Two Q-Drones is also a very interesting sometimes option, but won't fit in every list. In vanilla, two ikadrons are common, and two R-Drones are occasional, or vice versa.
I’ve always thought the Anathematic is a great thing to have with Shasvastii. Makrep is a good sub for the Gwailo! As others have mentioned to take out the Imetron, You can also upgrade the Shrouded to a killer hacker for another specialist. Slave drones are fantastic for just running into mines and perimeter weapons. Not a big deal if they don’t survive. They might even make a dodge save. I think the Anathematic is fine with the spitfire but I like the plasma too.
I bring Q and E drones most of the time and ikadrons if I needs some cheep orders. The E-drone buffs the Qs and also gives the Cadmus a +3 to his roll when he comes in, it also gives you the Exile option to bust up fire-teams but with limited repeater options it can be hard to use.
2 Ikadron + Imetron blister, 1 remotes box (both are S3, so you can deploy the EVO with combi and the TR bot, or the TR + 8pts flash pulse, or 2x TR...)
A Q- and an R- are pretty staple adds to most lists. EVOs are good if you give them enough things to do (they can even buff themselves!), and M-s are actually decent specialist filler for a Gwailo. I'll echo others on the Ikadron + Imetron blister (x2) as those badboys are excellent zone defense, fast templates, a flash pulse for more cheap ARO fun, and they also jive pretty well with Shas' biggest strength: zone control missions.
