    Hi everyone, I'm strongly considering testing this list out when I get an Uhlan in a week or two. For fun, I decided to try something weird: a Fusilier link with an Aquila and a Light Grenade Launcher Fusilier.

    The idea is to keep the Link held back while the Uhlan stomps around, then use it midgame for some nasty midfield action with an HI backbone. Plus punishing people who go too aggro with their own link teams.

    However, I worry that the list is a bit fragile. Especially when going second. What do you guys think?

    Looks reasonable to me. The uhlan should be pretty safe in marker state but the hexa will definitely need to help cover your link from smoke warbands etc.

    Not a lot of margin for error but played well I think it’ll work fine.

    Thanks! Yeah the Hexa is very much meant to help with AROs. I'm honestly half tempted to swap it to a Friar so that it can see through smoke, but I feel that the hidden deployment may end up being more useful.

    Agreed on the margin for error, though. I considered swapping the grenade launcher to a sniper and changing the Hexa to a Bulleteer, to get a third attack option. But at the same time, the grenade launcher seemed like a spicy option to test out with the Aquila as the main Link firepower. So I'm mixed on that decision.

    I don't like it to be honest. You're very vulnerable to a round 1 rambo assault. The only real obstacle is the Hexa, because the the Aquila can be outranged easily.

    I was worried about this as well. Minor point, there is still a TR bot in the list so it's the TR bot plus the Hexa.

    Any suggestions for changes? I always struggle with finding the right amount of speedbumps to avoid Rambo assaults. Usually I add too much and make the rest of the list not as good offensively.

    I dunno, a TR bot, a hidden sniper and an auxbot are about as good as it gets for NCA in terms of protecting vs an alpha strike. That isn't really their strong suit but against most things it's probably good enough. As long as they don't go in and gut your link team turn 1 you should have enough orders. I'd at least give it a few games to see how it goes.

    Just don't put your Aquila looking at LoF exceeding 16" should be enough. To shots on 18 are no joke, even for Achilles.

    Definitely, thanks for the tip!

    I also just realized that the Uhlan's Feuerbach and marker state could make it a decent backup ARO piece. Do you guys tend to deploy your marker-state Uhlan aggressively or more hidden?

    Depends on what you're facing. Against JSA, you can put him in ARO but always able to reach total cover with a failed guts roll. Against PanO or YJ, hide it.

    Depends of a lot of things. You may need a Trauma Doc if things screw up but not too much but if everything falls apart or goes nice, you won't need it.

    Play it and find what you're missing.

    Well, I was going to post the uhlan list I've had a bit of success with lately, although I'm a bit of a luddite, and it seems that its just importing text. Not sure what I'm missing. Long and short, is, it's a 2 TAG list, squalo, and uhlan. Admittedly, our local meta is small(5 dudes) and we've only been at it a 2 years-ish. I'm not saying it's an amazing list, but it has been hella fun. I guess I'll just long hand the bastard since I can't get it to import.

    The bolts and machinist are a 3 man link, and I just burn command tokens, to turn the tech bee regular every turn, if I need it. Tags kill shit.

    Same, it has some pretty big energy. Hacking-heavy armies will have a field day against it, but I'm finding myself warming up to it as a list. Main problem though is a severe lack of ARO pieces and specialists, but with some tweaks it could work.

    Maybe even dropping the Uhlan for a Swiss Missile Launcher? It would then allow for removing a Fugazi and replacing with a stronger specialist. But then you lose the TAG... Hmm.

    Seems extremely strong if you get the first turn, but I worry that it's too fragile, cheerleader-wise, for going second. Especially with how many command tokens you have to burn, lowering your option to spend those tokens later to move many pieces at once to claim objectives.

    Yeah, as I said it's not the best. I really jumped into infinity for the TAGs, so this was sort of a novelty kind of list. However, my last game against IA, I went second, and ended up winning 10-0. I'm sure it would get hosed pretty badly in a real tournament setting, but it's a real blast to see my opponents face when I set down 2 TAGs.

    Nice! Awesome win while going second. I agree that TAGs are criminally underused, although it's understandable with the meta.

    It's just definitely rough with the Auxilia Lieutenant eating up an SWC, along with the Tech Bee eating up tokens. If you're willing to bump the Uhlan down to a Swiss Guard with Missile Launcher (for ARO backup plus hilarity against link teams, you can also do the HMG), you could do this:

    You trade the Bolt squad for a Fusilier link with a Sniper (And CSU with shotgun, but that can be a Fusilier), and you get an additional specialist. If you run a Missile Launcher instead of the Sniper, you can either run a Palbot for your Machinist or change the CSU to some kind of specialist.

    Feel free to try either list! You might enjoy them; I personally think the first list is the most solid, but it's up to you. Your original list is fine too, since you say that you have some success.

    Thanks for the input. Yeah, I've run swiss combos ad nauseam, and they do get the job done. The 2nd list you posted is really similar to the 1st list I made with the 2 TAGs. I realized I needed a hacker right off, and I've been loving the bolt KHD, so switched it up to include the smaller link, with the machinist. I've found that with the 2 tags, the link doesn't get to much attention, and by the time it does, I don't really care about reforming. I'm moving on to play some merc lists in season 11, so I'm really just trying out some silly stuff my last few games with pano this season. Next up is the all remote(plus machinist)NCA list. Not really looking for wins, just a good time.
