Does anyone know where I can find an article for tactics for the new TAK stuff? I love the look of them.
Heh, I only now realized that we don't have a pinned tactica for TAK ;) Some links: https://infinitythetactics.com/Tartary_Army_Corps http://wargarage.org/english/infini...t-tartary-army-corps-tak-analysis-strategies/
Here is mine, I hope you find it useful. https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/spetsnaz-shkola-an-unofficial-tak-guide.27568/
To be honest I have no idea of who should do it or how it works. I'm happy if it can help new players. But take in mind it's just one styile yo can play as you like while it works.
I recently took TAK to a doubles tournament with a JSA partner, came second. Kazak line with Frontovik heavy rocket launcher link team. That’s three rockets a burst at BS15 and mimitism. It wrecks face and is filthy cheap. It’s also a nice counter to heavy and TAG TO/Camo. Ignore surprise shot and cleanse them with fire! I had one out shoot a Shasvastii Shrouded and two Invincible army HI.... in one reactive turn. The sniper version is a rare source of MSV1 and a budget Intruder. Dynamo’s are a rare biker unit without impetuous. They can spit mines and smoke with accuracy and are amazing button pushers with their movement. Irmandinhos In the right hands and with the right booty are absolute monsters. 8pt engineer with smoke makes an amazing button pusher. Opponents often forget how good they are in CC. Vassily Plushenko is a god of war. All versions of him are a specialist and he can dominate the right board. He won Grid for me single headedly in his LT profile by Forward Observing then blowing stuff up with T2 (antimaterial) sniper rounds. He is an amazing big game hunter and a terror to multi wound infantry. He is also hilariously cheap and gels well with the HMG/Sniper Spetsnaz for Ambush Camo shenanigans. Veteran Kazak are possibly the best heavy infantry in the game. The HMG LT in a link team is absolute murder with B5 BS16 Mimitism and what is basically two wounds. Watch out for weapons that save on BTS tho (this should however be the motto for Ariadna!). Ambush Camo is next level troll. I had an opponent pulling his hair out trying to figure out if I had a sniper in an amazing vantage point or just a pile of uniforms with a helmet on top. Psychological impact alone it was worth it!
I brought two lists but only used this one. Missions were Loot/Pilliage, Grid and Highly Classified. Murder list 3──────────────────────────────────────────────────8 1 1 VASSILY Lieutenant (Forward Observer) T2 Sniper, D-Charges / Heavy Pistol, Knife. (1 | 35) LINE KAZAK Paramedic (MediKit) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 11) LINE KAZAK Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 9) LINE KAZAK (Forward Observer) Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) LINE KAZAK Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 9) DYNAMO (Forward Observer) Rifle / Assault Pistol, CC Weapon. (0.5 | 29) STRELOK Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16) IRMANDINHO Chain Rifle, D-Charges, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 8) FRONTOVIK Heavy Rocket Launcher / Assault Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 23) 3 SWC | 150 PointsOpen in Infinity Army
Seriously, TAK's camo reputation can make those ambush markers do some work. No one wants to roll vs a spetznaz unless they're ready to throw down. A big piece of advice that'e left out of most unit by unit breakdown is your list and placement making use of synergy of deployment types. If you're placing ambush camo fakeouts or strelok camo fillers, make sure that your opponent can't logic his way out of what that could possibly be. There's places on the board where infiltration can be that our FD guys can't go and some have to hang back entirely. Have an idea of what is allowed to go where and place your tokens accordingly to obscure your gameplan. All of a sudden you have people just walking past your spetznaz till something really unprepared or pricey double moves past a "fake" and gets his head blown off. Or that big scary HI with a feurbach spends the game weeping in a room because he thinks comrade autocannon is waiting for him, only to find out that the korps stuck a mannequin in the window. (both of these are recent true stories) Seriously TAK camo game is cruel and I love it. But remember to have fun comrade.
Read this and be amazed this is gold. It’s also a highly efficient way of building lists for other armies especially in a tournament environment but that might just be me because it’s also my style of playing.
New to TAK player here. I have a question about the MSV1 Frontovik w/AP Sniper. I want to take him, because let’s face it, the only MSV we have. How do I best utilize him? In a link team for the extra burst (Haris) and/or extra BS (5-man)? Or do I risk leaving him out somewhere?
He's best in a 5 man link. He's a solid toolbox attacker that is right at home leading some Line Kazaks or supporting Vet Kazaks. I always squeeze him in as my anti TO/ODD specialist. He's usually spitting the B5 out on his base BS. Great opposite the your AP HMG Vet Kazak. Just also bring an engineer one along too for any EM fixes and button pushing.
put him in a line Kazak 5 man team, preferably with a Vet Paramedic. Also remember that the Heavy rocket launcher guy is a god of war and who cares about TO or Camo if you can hit the guy next to them and burn away all that tinfoil.
Hi all, what about the tank hunter LT? He eats 1SWC, but is a dirty cheap camo LT with decent armor too. you can keep him in the backfield with a spetsnaz and his decoy, to confuse the enemy. Surely, vassily looks better, but those 10 points can mean a extra order.
I mostly take the tank hunter LT if I think impersonation is going to be a threat that game. As Camo markers are alot harder to assassinate
Vass is amazing tho. BS13 is the tippy top of our shootyness. Sniping from distance he makes a great LT that can pick off big game targets and then re-camo to safety with that LT order. Tank hunter with AP rifle is cheap but... slow, no infiltration and has relatively short ranged weapons. its more order intensive than Vass who can start making plate sized holes in the enemy from the comfort of his deployment.
I keep seeing people rave about the sniper frontovik, I have never taken him and doubt I ever will. There are a whole lot of other things I would take against camo and visual mods, like dog packs
The frontovik sniper is by far the best aro piece of TAK, and he has the only msv. While linked he is the most optimal aproach to long range engagements with visual modifiers. Dogs are way more order expensive compared to the sniper
