I will be playing in a tournament soon where the mission lineup is Comms Center, The Grid, Tic-Tac-Toe, Transmission Matrix, and Highly Classified.

I think I will divide the missions up with Comms Center/Highly Classified for list 1 and The Grid/Tic-Tac-Toe/Transmission Matrix for list 2.

I plan on running Vanilla Ariadna and this is what I have so far. This is my first tournament with Vanilla so any thoughts/criticisms will be appreciated.

Ok man, starting from the first list:

You're taking the Metro to have a cheap specialist, but he has a shitty WIP. So let's carve some points: Wardriver is a useless piece, so you can upgrade the French boy to a 112. Better weapon loadout, better WIP.
17 points left, we can go for two more useful options: Bounty Hunter (12 points) + upgrading Strelok and ParaCommando to FOs. Or you can go full banzai, taking a K9 for Sensor (1 SWC that you're getting back from WD), a Highlander and a Warcor. Many Irregulars in the second group shouldn't scare you, as it's a static group and this setting will give you even more utilities.

    Second list:

The list is pretty much set, you've a lot of control board with mines and FTs, a lot of Specialists, but Vassily desperately needs a CoC to go aggressive. Use the T2 Marksman version to destroy Antennas, take out ParaCommando, Uxìa and the Krakot for a Tankhunter CoC and Pavel. You get the same number of Specialists, same weapons able to destroy the Antennas, but more board control thanks to ADHL and mines. Vassily will be able to trade effectively and without fear. And TH CoC is costly enough to get some points for Transmission Matrix.

    List 1:

The Wardriver is actually a very decent Specialist, especially for Comms Center thanks to +3 with reroll. Keep her.
Melee classifieds will be challenging, because your melee guys are either mediocre or want to stay at range. I don't see a way to fix that though without completely rebuilding the list.
I really dislike the basic Paracommando. Can't you squeeze one or two points out somewhere else? The BSG or the FO variants might be much better.

    List 2:

I do not like Vasili as a Lt. choice, because you can't risk losing him early, so he'll be dead weight for two turns. He's much better as a CoC. Get more Line Kazaks, spread them out and make one of the your Lt. Drop the Warcor and the Metros if that is necessary.

My thinking with list 1 was making sure all of my classifieds were covered as I don't get to drop any classifieds I cant do in Highly Classified. I'm stuck with whatever shows up. I could drop the Wardriver from HD to the DHD, that would free up 2 points to upgrade the Metro to a 112.

For list 2 those are good points. I hadn't planned to use Vassily aggressively, he was for taking out antenna and long range coordinated orders on ARO pieces.

Thank you for the thoughts. I will have to play around with them and see what I can create.

I normally think the Wardiver is not a good choice, but for those 2 missions I feel it is needed. My plan for melee classifieds was Uxia and Irmandinho. I could drop the Wardriver from HD to DHD and that would allow me to upgrade the Para to an FO. I don't really want the Wardriver to be fighting hacking battles anyway so that change is reasonable.

Good points on Vassily. I haven't used him before so I was just spitballing.

Vassily is a beast, and you're already planning to use him aggressively. He's (as you said) going to destroy some antennas, so try to stick in a CoC and go downtown.

+1 for Vassily. He can win Grid in one turn. Forward observer and T2 all the way. A second Tankhunter can fulfil some Classified objectives being both a CoC and MI.

I played a tournament with Grid last weekend. Vassily won Grid for me and yeah, he did nothing for two turns. Turn three however was glorious. In another game I used a miniature to herd enemy Impetuous out of cover and Vass just picked them off. The only thing that seemed to really touch him was heavy or medium infantry with MSV.

I'm really glad to hear you had success with this as it was how I want to play it too. Thank you :)
