Hi ! During a game a strange situation happened. I play tohaa and had a triad with Aelis (Khd and regeneration). I go throught an ennemy repeater and fall unconscious after a cyberfight with ennemy hacker. I fall in the repeater ZoC. I then spend a long order for regenerating Aelis. Killer Hacking Device has the "automatic equipement" (unlike Hacking/HD+/AHD/DHD which are just equipment) Unconscious state wiki say : "Automatic Special Skills and Automatic Equipment have no effect while Unconscious." Two possibilities : 1/ As Aelis doesn't have stealth so regeneration provide an ARO to the machiavelic ennemy hacker 2/ Killer Hacking device is off until Aelis is back (because still in null state while declaring regeneration) which mean at the order conclusion of the regen so : no ARO for the hacker ? Then if a Hacker has a normal hacking device which is only "Equipement" and an automedikit, the opponent Hacker would then have an ARO ?
Irrelevant, you are doing a long order that requires a roll => breaks stealth The hacker would get an ARO, but should not be able to target the KO hacker, because "Hacker" is an Automatic Skill (and those get disabled when Unconscious). He could, however, declare Blackout against her Hacking Device, and if succesfull, Aelis will be a hacker (with a bricked hacking device) after getting up, which reenabled her being a Hacker, so her next activation would allow an ARO from the enemy hacker to which she could only reset. Bottom line: Break the repeater first.
Aelis Hacking Device is turned off, but Skullbuster etc doesn't target the Hacking Device, it targets the Hacker and Aelis will still be a Hacker because they carry a Hacking Device (regardless of its condition). -> Aelis will generate an ARO that the KHD can use to ARO Aelis with a Killer Hacking Program.
Hacker is an automatic skill. Unconscious effect is "Automatic Special Skills and Automatic Equipment have no effect while Unconscious.". So the hacker skill effect have no effect. The skill itself is still active so Aelis is still a hacker. She is still a hacker so she still fullfill the requirement to be a target of a SWORD program

@Sangarn We know that Hacking Programs can target people who have skills that aren't currently giving any effect because Goodnight exists, which allows the targeting of unconscious troopers. So hackers can hack unconscious hackers.
@Hecaton ? goodnight doesn't target hackers it target G: Remote Presence Special Skill in the Unconscious state. G:Remote stay in unconscious state i'm probably missing something
Note that in all of your descriptions of what a hacker is, none of them say the equipment has to be working, only that the trooper has it.
Actually yes it is a skill, you even quoted the link to the hacker skill, with the automatic skill label, in the special skill part of the wiki... The hacker skill doesn't give any effect due to unconscious but the skill is still here and active so the sword hacking programm requirement is fullfilled and aelis can die Ps : unconscious does not deactivate a skill, only its effect
