The omega will be the groundbreaker here. BS14 , ARM4 , W2 , WIP 14, HMG and ODD for less than 50 points.

Cuervo is gonna be tough, he is like an IP, but without its problems, but neither the standaed MI problem

It would be nice if CB decided to use the new formula for all the armys, not just a few ones

Bulleteers pay 3 points for ODD if you compare them to the Peacemaker, so yeah, that checks out.

    Nevermind Orcs. Compare to Swiss.
+1 ARM, +3 BTS and TO state costs 20 points on a HI...

Now, as a Yu Jing player this isn't a big chip on my shoulder, but I expect JSA players to have some concerns regarding Omega vs Shikami...
Bulleteers have much lower BS and for Mimetism at least, price seems occasionally informed by BS and I'd expect ODD to do the same.

Also, I think if you look at the Bulleteer you'll find that it pays 3 points more than the Rui Shi pays for MSV2

How much do you think ODD costs on something like the Ryuken? probably around 4-5 points. The profile itself probably costs 13-14, another point or two for X-visor, another or two for Minelayer, another point or two for the breaker pistols, one point for the D-charges, maybe 3 for FD2 and finally the ODD.

It's not as expensive as you think.

Marker state and hidden deployment is quite important (as is not being as much afraid of fire); you almost definetely cant alpha strike a swiss guard unless you are, like, a Hollow Man core with a sensor bot. Omega, on the other hand, will get a visit from Fiday. Points well spent I'd say.

Still there should be... any kind of correction factor when it is a high BS, 2W model when calculating the cost of defensive skills.

This one caught my eye as well. I'm really curious about rest of their loadouts.

And costed to spec, too ;)

+1 BS, too. You're raising a good point, but remember that both ARM and BS are pretty expensive, TO price might scale with units' power level too, and Swiss was generally designed in the dark era of the previous PanO design philosophy ;)

Also, given the amount of DTWs - a lot of them being flamethrowers - and greater access to MSVs, Omega's ODD might not be that useful during the reactive turn, not against a savvy opponent.

Yadu and Shakti say hi ;) They're pretty much this - HIs in MI chassis. Even with their higher availability they didn't break the game.

This. This is the most important thing. They're really bad at applying formula changes and design ideas retroactively, and it makes people with older armies understandably disgruntled.

Eh, I'm not overly concerned. It's good but there are plenty of ways of dealing with such a spicy boi, and if you do deal with it then your opponent is putting a lot of eggs in a basket that just got smashed.

Still don't know about the sectorial's drawbacks. If it has Old Pan-O's "we don't use none of that support stuff" it could be fine. We already know one source of Eclipse, but that doesn't tell full story.
possibly closer to Hac Tao, then. I agree HD and state is better, but I'm not sure 20 points better - and I'm not saying Swiss Tao are bad (and absolutely not that they ssomehow got worse by this release), just that Omega feels like they forgot their normal HI penalty, which I'd wish they did for more HI.

Yup, back when Pan-O HI were copycats of Yu Jing HI :p

More like "streamlined for shooting, instead of being a toolbox" :P It serves us well in a firefight, but I remember times when I envied YJ that flexibility.

Honestly I like that there's lots of really powerful expensive stuff these days. Especially hackable stuff. Remember how things used to be? Hacking wasn't very good because everyone just spammed warbands, skirmishers and LI? And we all complained about it because it was wank? These days for a lot of factions if you don't want to play the infowar game by taking no hackers and nothing hackable you are losing out on some gooooood shit, and that's how it should be.

I expect to see a lot of ODD HIs with HMGs running around in future and I for one will not be leaving home without Repeaters and AHDs if possible!
