What have people found effective when playing Ikari in terms of:

    - Taking a Core Fireteam
    - Taking a Haris Fireteam
    - Taking Both a Core & Haris
    - Taking no Fireteams (is that a thing people do?)

I appreciate the group taking the time as I keep trying to wrap my head around Ikari and what works/doesn't work. I know a lot of list building has to do with mission, but when playing a sectorial, there's typically going to be a fireteam of some sort in there.

I used a Keisotzu/Brawler MSR/Tanko ML-Core and a Brawler/Brawler AHD/Tanko SMG-Haris in my last games against Bakunin and JSA and was very satisfied how they performed. Haris was used very aggressive and was able to grab objectives and defend a flank on their own. Core was providing longrange fire support and orders to fuel the Haris.

One of the guys in my meta takes the ARO fireteam core and a haris of Druze to mop up the mess left behind by max ava YY
    It's frighteningly effective

For me, it depends on what I'm trying to do with the list. I like to have two main threats, so that is usually a core team, and 1 other thing.

I've run a 2x tanko + 1 brawler haris quite a bit, and I like that as a support piece to the keisotsu/tanko/brawler defensive core. But when running a Wu Ming core, there isn't really space for any of the Ikari haris so they don't make the cut.

I also like the idea of a druze haris, however I haven't run into a scenario list that as meant I felt they were the best option yet. So they're on the to-do list.

All good stuff! I still gotta try out Druze links, they look like they have potential. Also I've become very fond of 2x Tanko + Brawler Haris. It's a nice option for moving up the board.

For Ikari I find the MSV2 defensive mixed core so incredibly appealing that I almost always bring it. Another nice thing about it is it's very cheap for what it does, you can very often find room for a multi-wound Haris in addition to it. The Tanko/Brawler is a defensible pick for that as you mentioned but I think my favorite Haris to field is the Wu Ming with a Brawler doctor.

It's some durable firepower you can move up the board and brings along a specialist for objectives (something we struggle with). Granted with WIP 12 she's not so competent at medicine but just having the 60% hail mary to scoop up your BS 13 machine gun it's always worth a shot. One of my favorite Ikari lists features both fireteams and even has enough room for a Daiyokai or Karakuri and a smattering of Yuan Yuan.

One of the great things about Ikari is that it’s cheap enough troops that you can do a Core, a Haris, Duos, and all of that! I can’t see doing Ikari without them. I may not always use a Haris but I’ll certainly go with a few Duo. It’s just more efficient that way.

I think, like many, i use the Tanko ML+Keisotsu+Brawler MSR. It’s great but i’ve been getting little bored with it. Also my opponents seem to know what to do against them now. I’m now doing Druze+Tanki ML. I like that every single one of them is a threat. The Keisotsu would usually be hidden a way most of the time and when they did do something it was usually not effective. I’m going to miss they Brawler MSR but that’s moving to a Haris I think.

The Wu Ming Core is fantastic but that’s something only whipped out on occasion depending on the mission or if Limited Insertion.

For Haris I was using the Druze there but I didn’t really like the Druze Haris with DEP and costing 1 SWC. It was Druze Haris+KHD+HMG or Panzerfaust.

I haven’t done this yet but I think I’m going to start doing a Haris of Brawler+Tanko. Tanko would be the Haris, Brawler Lt. and Brawler MSR or HRL or Engineer.

I’ve thought of a pure Tanko Haris but I think that there’s no specialist or long range weapons other than ML holds me back.

No love for the Wu Ming HMG + Haris + Brawler doc? One of my favorites.

That and the Brawler MSR + 2 tanko delivery system are my favorite Haris

Core I like the classic keisotzu + Tanko ML and Brawler (either MSR or LT)
