    Hi all,

I've started infinity relatively recently, and have only played very few games. I am having trouble understanding why the MK12 is an attractive weapon on Tai Sheng than compared to say, the Breaker combi on her other available profiles. Could some vets enlighten me as to what it does? It seems to be a B3 rifle with longer ranger and 2 more dam than the conventional combi rifle? Is that it or am I missing something?

    Thanks!

One of the best rangebands in the game.

You can outrange rifles for a 6 point swing (you get +3,they get -3), and you can also get into the 0 band of heavier weapons like HMGs, Snipers, Missile/Rocket launchers. She also has a heavy pistol for close encounters so the +0 rangeband isn't too much of a weakness.

In a Fireteam or effectively becomes a DAM15 Spitfire for 0 SWC.

The +2 DAM over a combi or Marksman Rifle is also neat, it's better than AP against ARM 0-3, and just as good vs ARM 4-5, which covers 90% of targets.

Stun Grenades. That's the key to understand here.

Its the perfect weapon to go side by side with an HMG: no SWC, complementary rangeband, still packs a punch. With +1 BS and +1 Damage, Taï Sheng MK12 is as strong as a shang-ji spitfire, except she also has a chain colt and stun grenades.

Also the combi breaker profile comes with a tinbot, but since you're probably already taking the tinbot zuyong because he has Tactical awareness it's a bit wasted.

Using her tinbot profile allows you to use other profiles for the Zuyong. TA doesn't automatically translate to autoinclude on a unit that's basically the weakest gear of all Zuyong profiles.
But the Mk12 has Stun Grenades which allows you to effectively deal with enemies with dangerous direct template weapons hiding around tight corners.

It completely depends on how you intend to use her, but the MK12 is a really absolutely solid choice in a link team. Both her loadouts are really good that operate slightly differently depending if you want her to buff from the back of the team or lead the charge and attack directly, the MK12 profile let's you get away with only using a single HMG in the link if you want to save points or SWC for the rest of the list, or to make the link even more dangerous with a 2nd HMG, a missile launcher or a Hidao sniper.

I usually prefer the breaker combi & tinbot profile so that I don't need to spend the 0.5 SWC on the Haris model, but then I also take 2 Tac Aware HMGs in the link. For my playstyle, I use the breaker combi & tinbot profile to use her NCO orders to get into position and then attack with other link members keeping her back to push buttons and take over LT with CoC if needed and then fill out with a Zhuyong paramedic and a Hidao engineer. A Tinbot and a Fairy Dust hacker buff means you can practically ignore enemy hackers

There's no wrong choice, just play her appropriately and she'll be well worth it and remember that either way, she's going to be a specialist so she can push buttons in ITS missions as well

It's really a 0SWC support weapon. Gives you a big punch without costing extra SWC.
