Hi all, I have a tourney this weekend and one of the missions is transmission matrix. I have never played this mission before, but my understanding is that this is a hacking heavy mission. Anyway I was hoping to get some units/tactical advice for tackling this mission. Thanks in advance. I forget to mention that I will be using OCF.

My initial thoughts were to bring all non hackable troopers. That's one less thing to worry about

Don't make the same mistake I did. If antennas ZoC is 4 inches doesn't mean their repeater range is 4 inches also but 8 inches
You can go for a non-hackable list, evoiding remotes, IPs and TAGs but that'll leave you with not so many options I beleive and
you will have to counter spotlights and guided missiles. I used spotlighting and guided missiles in my last match with nomads and worked pretty well...

That's what I meant. 4 inches of ZoC doesn't mean 4 inches of repeater. Corrected.
Indeed, I played a Nomads heavy hacking list against a heavy hacking bakunin list... I spent half the 1st turn eliminating his hackers one by one with coordinated orders (an EVO is mandatory in this situations).

In most cases you will find yourself in a situation against no or just one hacker (most often with a KHD, even better with TO like the Ninja KHD). People are too scared of fielding more hackable things in this mission. In Transmission Matrix I prefer to field an Interventor HD+ and an Interventor KHD so I got the killy guy and a supportive guy for my army.

LT Hacker is a dangerous choice in this mission. If they have a hacker in any of the 5 repeaters they can target any of your hackers. The Rodoks will help against the likely LoL, but a smart opponent will probably split burst between Bit and the Nexus at the earliest opportunity, a good chance with a Surprise Shot too.

I thought perhaps the nullifyer would be a good defence against that. I guess only if I go first or deploy out of the repeater range which might not be an option. Perhaps I take a rodock LT. and use the Nexus as a decoy.

The nullifier would help, but the order you deploy it still generates AROs for your opponent's hackers. Pretty big gamble to survive that just so you can keep your hacker from using his hacking abilities. The repeaters being friendly for everyone means that your hackers are fair game as long as other hackers are in a repeater. No firewall mods for the Transmission repeaters means you are even less protected than normally.

The only way I see this working well is if you start near the edge of the zone, drop the Nullifier, and can now move into the zone a bit in subsequent orders. I take that back... that works, but not well.

Except if the enemy has a killer hacker anywhere in any of the repeater zones you're figgety-fucked.

Yeah it would be a pretty big gamble on them failing/you making your BTS for no real benefit as your own ELHD would be worthless.

I'll only be playing if we have an odd number. Just here to help you have a good time.
