There is actually a bit of an exception in the Azrael lore. They specifically use older armour shells to more effectively intimidate the crowds. I can see O-12 doing the same; the extra height alone would be worth it during a riot just to be seen through the mass of people- unless the riot was against cops. Then it would make you a target.
I feel kinda sad because the "leaked" names are better than the actual ones... Kappa unit? Seriously? Well, models are good, anyway.
Pose the model with sniper rifle held up - Rifle gets in way. Pose the model with guns blazing - Not enough holsters or pockets. Pose model standing on rock - Ok, you're on your own for this one.
to their credit there are only 3 tactical rocks/debris in this entire double set. Though maybe the bonus mini could still push it to 4
Somehow I can’t stop wishing that O12 uses new scult remotes, be it aleph ones or a resculpt of pano that’s conveniently being released soon.
While it does seem that way, I agree with Kan. You have made those into tropes, which means they're potentially boring when too many tropes get together. I have settled into using effects bits, adding muzzle flashes or whatever, to make models shooting look more interesting. Possibly Aleph REMs, O12 seems to use the highest tech/fanciest gear out of the entire Human Sphere. As for that S5 trooper, I think it's for intimidation.
Well, they have Aleph weaponry so Aleph REMs would make sense. As for the S5, I've been waiting for another Su-Jian for ages, frankly Aleph should have had one (A TO, infiltrating leopard mech instead of Andromeda. In fact the more I think about it the more I'm sure she's a placeholder in OSS for just such a unit that couldn't be balanced/designed in time).
Rather than O-12 using Aleph gear, I think the idea might be more that Aleph has always been using O-12 gear.
To clarify, colbrook is referencing the fact that PanO companies produce the weapons for both Aleph and PanO.
Honestly, from what I have seen playing the game over the course of this year, this seems to be the most likely scenario. I would even put money on it.
And while I always forget the contractor that makes the PMC’s weapons, the one making ALEPH’s is easy to remember: Italieri de Precisione.
I always thought that the 'bleeding edge' of HS armour technology was silhouette 2 ARM5 TO power armour, without integral heavy weapons and that they were very, very, very expensive. I just assumed some weapons were just too 'massy' like the HMRC that it had to go on larger platform like a Yan Huo, and then why bother putting TO on it... (The fact that YJ has managed to get a hyper mag on a platform that size is impressive in any event). I don't think S5 is low-tech, but it might be the most cost effective way to carry the gear you want, Kriza (extra ammo), Al Fasid (extra weapons, mines) etc. 'Like, what do they need to do and how many of these do you want? Right, well for that cost, it's not going to be S2.' Doesn't the Achilles entry specially state he's the most expensive chassis ever build, even Aleph's eyes are watering?
I keep on thinking they found some poses and the setups in the rubber wheels that work for them (feeders, vents, RPM, etc)... and then just repeat them to avoid having to figure new casting setups. Because at this time, it can not be about reusing the dollies.
Yes, and he's so expensive that Aleph had to give him a decoy (Patroclus) and an emergency evac biker (Penthesilea), just to try to keep that frame intact through more operations. Ajax isn't the superhuman commander that Hector or Jerkilles are. But he is an inspiring brawler like you wouldn't believe. Jerkilles has a bad habit of running off by himself and getting that LHost shot to pieces. It's bad enough when it's an Asura or PostHuman. It's a nightmare when that LHost is as expensive as Jerkilles.
An Achilles grade Lhost is also going to be orders of magnitude more expensive than a suit of armour too, you're looking at a cybernetic body complete with respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and even digestive systems, amped up far beyond human norms and with all sorts of hidden armour, biological redundancies, and so forth. Without seeing stats it's hard to tell if the new S5 HI feels high or low tech, if we're looking at something approaching average TAG stats but without the TAG downsides that's very high tech indeed.
