O-12 is depends on the other factions because they finance them (to a large extend). And don't forget that the military and police force is probaply the smallest section. Most of them are bureaucrats, diplomats and lawyers.
I feel more or less the same. Honestly to me some of the armor (e.g. the plate on the lower arm of the big guy), the helmets, the leg design, the glowing parts and of course the weapons make the art look like they are deep in Aleph miniature design space.
100% agree...the quick shot of the kneeling sniper looked like someone stole the lhost from a posthuman or we see an exemplar the lhost and his armor and his gun were based on. In any event, a bit too close to be truly unique or interesting to me. Hopefully others differentiate from existing lines more.
Oh, wow. The O-12 are so recycled. The male Kappa? I have that model in Haqq. And in Nomads. Epsilon, yet another sniper not sniping. Gamma? Is that my Feuerbach Azrail? Delta, is that a "default PanO" model? What the hell is going on there, design wise? There's no identity there, everything's generic as all get out, including the simplistic naming pattern.
so... Azrail feuerbach, 3 fusileers, an echo bravo, intruder sniper and.. i dont know, capeless zulu cobra?
I'd wait with calling them recycled until seeing a hi res version. The poses are certainly old (Gangbuster's actually goes way back to Paras' HMG), but the unit design might be different enough. I also like the colour theme, actually. edit: and SEF side of the box looks ok, too. It's refreshing to see only one CCW out, after Shas models being about everyone and his embro holding a knife.
I want to see some high quality pictures before I shit on them too much. I will say that the Kappa next to the Gangbuster is the only one I'm not a huge fan of...but I can fix that with some gentle bending and debris.
First Kappa unit is exactly the same pose as Clipsos from Spiral box...They should ate least use recicled poses from older miniatures to not be so obviously recognizable
Such tiny resolution. :( At a glance I like how the O-12 looks, makes me eager to see a higher res pics. But I really hate the bare arms on the Gangbuster unit. It's one thing to see similar poses but I feel like I've seen these exact poses. and many of them recently. female starter combi Aguicile, male starter combi Securitate, new Line Kazak HMG, Fuerbach Azra'il, HMG Tankhunter, [The Delta looks familiar but I'm not sure where I seen him.] I will concede that some poses do need to be recycled, and some weapons make certain poses hard to not duplicate. Just too bad it all kinda came out as so glaring right here. And despite all this. I'm still gonna probably buy two if I like the close up detail.
Pretty similar, but much better. The Clipsos is just stood perfectly straight upwards, looks a bit awkward. There’s more motion here, by the looks of things.
There's only going to be so many ways to pose a person holding a gun, I'd hold off any criticisms til we see the higher res versions of the sculpts. Given the nature of O-12, there will be some overlap in aesthetics, but they still seem to have a unique look. I'm really curious as to where they take them with design space gameplay wise though, what niche they will fill.
I mean, you could say the S5 was a recycled Azra'il pose, but you'd have to ignore the different stance in the legs, the gun held at ready rather than firing, and the head being in a slightly different direction. So yeah, if you don't count every limb it's the same pose. I guess maybe it's because they both use chainsaw grip weapons?
S5 have never been superior tech in any way shape or form, it’s a sign that you lack the tech to put that armour into a S2 sized model.
I agree. Which is what puzzles me. Either O-12 is not so high tech as we supposed or designers are overdoing with the S5 armored dude trend. On the other hand I really wonder how they'll manage to pull up this faction as something competitive from the beginning. When Tohaa were released they only had 12 units in their roster. And I don't think O-12 will be different. However Tohaa had their special mechanics that allowed them to enjoy links (triads). O-12 as a generic faction shouldn't have access to links. But no links and a small roster from start shouldn't allow them to be very competitive… unless they are brokenly OP or they have their own special rules to allow them to build some kind of fireteams.
