Hi guys! If you guys don't mind, could you help me out with these two small questions related to objectives? 1. Hidden objectives - how does one get this deck for random hidden objectives? Is it something CB sells, do you print it from some resource..? 2. Tactical objectives - I know the use for antennas, supply boxes etc., but what exactly are the tech coffins and crash coffins? What kind of missions do these appear in?
The Hidden objectives are from the Classified Deck, this is sold anywhere that sells Infinity miniatures, Captain Spud also has a Downloadable version on his Web page I believe. Crash coffins and tech coffins are essentially just variations in the standard 40mm objectives. Crash coffins get used a bit in the Paradiso campaign and tech coffins are used in the Supplies Misson (among others probably, running from memory here). Either can be represented by a 40mm marker or an appropriate terrain piece of the same diameter.
If you're referring to the classified deck you can buy it – its a set of cards. Alternatively there is also a list of them in the beginning of the ITS X document. Tech coffins are just another type of objective. Almost all objectives work very similarly with subtle differences, tech coffins are just another flavor of console, usually giving bonuses to doctors/paras. They're used in supplies
Yeah, the Classified Objectives - that what I meant. I had a brainfart and forgot the right word... :) Anyway - you say you buy them? I'll have to look, then - I guess I missed them in the shops I buy at... Strange. Regarding the coffins - I'm wondering what they actually represent... I mean, in-universe? Obviously, I know what an antenna or a console is, but what's the mission fluff for the coffins? Are they big supply boxes, or maybe cryogenic storage units, or escape pods..? Oh! And what are the panoplies? Big computers?
Crash coffins are escape pods, usually from an orbital ship or platform, designed to carry someone from orbit to surface without turning them to jelly. Tech coffins are essentially the same thing but containing materiel rather than people. Useful for resupplying soldiers in the field. Panoplies are big crates, caches, or vending machines full of awesome gear and weapons.
This is what the classifieds look like. I think it's supposed to be a type of supply box. you pull "supplies" out of them after all. Vending machines!
I seriously thought that panoplies were big data servers! See, it's good to ask :) Re: Classified deck - ah, yes, I see that they are indeed available in my LGS. How could've missed it? Weird... Anyway, a question, then: the current deck is described as "adapted for ITS 10". I remember reading the ITS 10 description document some time ago and, IIRC, it said that you need to replace one or two cards from the normal Classified deck with special cards with ITS 10-related missions. So... does this purchasable deck contain just the ITS 10 cards? The normal deck with ITS 10 cards added? Or am I completely misreading things and there's no such thing as a "normal" deck and it changes depending on the ITS season?
The "green box" Classifieds are new for ITS 10 and completely replaced the old "orange box" from the previous 3 or 4 seasons which had cards added to and removed from it over the years. The green box deck is all you need to buy.
Hrm. The tech coffins, terminals, antenna, etc are all 40mm. They are interchangeable on the table just so long as everyone knows which is which. So cosmetic if you're looking to control your budget.
