Hello all, We've run into the issue of not quite understanding how and when to declare dodge against a template out of LoF. Is it as simple as, my model gets a retro active dodge ARO, if the active player decides to shoot with a template weapon from outside LoF? It seems to us that It can only work this way, considering the mechanics of ARO. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!
You can never retroactively declare an ARO. Here is a simplified version of the order structure... Active : Declare first skill Reactive : Declare ARO (IF you see the opponent in your LoF, or if the opponent activated in your ZoC) Active : Declare second skill Reactive : Declare ARO (IF you see the opponent in your LoF, or if the opponent activated in your ZoC AND you did not had an opportunity to declare an ARO prior on your opponent's first skill) If you are hit by a template weapon from out of LoF, you are allowed to declare dodge (with a -3). This is an exception to the regular dodge requirements of having LoF. If your opponent entered your ZoC, you won't be able to declare dodge, but you may declare "Change Facing" to attempt to avoid their template (acts similarly to a dodge with the -3, except that you don't get to move 2 inches if you succeed) http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Dodge http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Change_Facing
