The Zerats new profile could be and excelent excuse to reesculpt the model and unmask it :D Maybe... you will see a Tohaa Greif Operator there... lol
I got a lady Morat in mind as well including a male. I'm also looking forward to the Combined RPG book to better understand the major species' civilizations & societies. Particularly the Morats and their different colored cousins. And yes, more official art would be nice.
Never thought about that. We should try this idea of yours out to see if you stumbled upon something.
When I knock a few mini's off my plate I'll start looking around. I haven't really looked at Tohaa before.
I don't know, the more I read of them, the more I think I'd side with the CA if I really had to choose. >_>
Tohaa's hair are too spiky and seemingly rigid for a lady morat. They have long flowing hair that would make a Head & Shoulders commercial star cry in anger. The Tohaa's face would likely work for a Morat though. But if it comes to face, I guess most faces would do with sculpting hair. PErsonally, I'll go by the RPG and go full space Oni, with small horns. (The RPG actually describe Morats as having horns) On the subject of the Tohaa themselves, from the look of it they aren't exactly nice. Humanity is a tool for them and they seem quite happy to manipulate them. But that's apparently not all Tohaa. The average one seem okay with humanity, while the leaders do seem to view them as tools but more than just meat for the grinder. There IS however a secret Tohaa organisation, the Triumvirate, that has been manipulating events since Dawn was closed off during the first human colonization. They are in fact responsible for the disapearance of the second colony ship and the break down of the first portal (The second part was an unplaned consequence though). They even manipulated the coming of the EI to Paradiso. Finally, there is a third Tohaa faction, the Sigmaa Trihedron. They are the part of the Tohaa civilization that was conquered by the EI. They act like it turned out good and that the EI did little to change them beside replace their cubes with EI ones, and they now focus their war effort on Tohaa because they think their government is corrupt and that everyone of them should join the EI. Personally, I find that very suspicious and believe they aren't acting entirely of their own volition.
So I'm reading, Morat are more Space Oni than Space Monkey, cool, I love oni and Tohaa as a whole just shouldn't be trusted. There's that little part about the Tohaa that they like to evolve a species, seem like their best friends, and then turn them into mind-controlled slaves. If I have that right, that makes them about the same as EI. I need to order some Morat mini's to get a better idea of their faces in physical form I think, but horns are easy enough to do. Who am I kidding, I need some for npc's anyway.
@Ravrohan If you are focusing on Morat faces, go for Vanguard, Daturazi since they have open faces. Yaogats have both open and closed helmets then there is Kornak with an open facemask. Don't forget that the Krakot minis are bare faced as well.
Morat already have little horns where a human's ears would be. They pull inspiration from both Oni and Japanese Macaque monkeys with their distinctive white hair and red faces.
