If a Shrouded puts down a Dazer field, can a Super-jump unit "pass over it". I don't think so as it's infinite height, but just checking as I've had people use Super-jump to hop over other terrain obstacles. Thanks in advance.
Question 2: While I'm on this SEF-inspired binge, if a Caliban Engineer is in the Camo state, can he have Palbots synced, and can the Palbots repair while the Caliban is in marker state?
I know this is already being discussed in the realms on Facebook, but here is my take on it: http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Dazer The description stipulates 'within it's Zone of Control', so however you interpret ZoC in 3d is how you'd use the Dazer. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Zone_of_Control With Caliban i've talked abotu this with others too, and there is nothing to state that a camo marker cannot have a G:Servant. I mean, a canny opponent will know EXACTLY what the camo marker is at that point, but you can still do it! Repair is not a short movement skill, and G:Servant states that the 'owner' perform the action through the bot, so fixing stuff will reveal the camo marker.
It's infinite height, like you said (dazer effect : "This weapon generates a Very Difficult Terrain and Saturation Zone of infinite height in its Zone of Control." => so the dazer effect is a zone of 42.5cm diameter and infinite height, centered on the dazer), so the superjump trooper is affected by the dazer Very difficult terrain effect says "Entering base contact with a Very Difficult Terrain area immediately and automatically ends the trooper's Movement, regardless of its type.". So unless your superjump trooper got multiterrain, he will hit the border of the dazer zone, then stop his jump and fall. Yes he can have salve drones sync with him (palbot are for puny humans in blue). It has been answered you can even have ghost servant attached to a TO troops (doctor touareg in Haqq, in this case they are disconnected until the doctor is put on the table) Yes, the caliban can perform engineer (using the slave drone) but it will reveal the Caliban. Why ? Two reasons : - Because both troops will declare engineer, even if only one perform it. And it's the declaration of a non short movement/cautious mouvement skill that cancel camouflaged state - Even if the slave drone is the one in contact of the trooper needing repair, it's the engineer, not the g:servant who performs engineer
It's an old forum question and he is not accessible anymore, even through google cache. I imagine we will need some official confirmation now that the old source is dead and gone
I don't think the question was officially answered, but instead clarified by IJW. Essentially, there's nothing in the rules which prevents a Nasmat from being deployed as a Tuareg Doctor's servant and since the rules have already given permission to deploy both, and the only limitation from Ghost: Servant is that both troopers deploy at the same time as if a single trooper. You just specify that you have deployed both troopers, but that the information of the Nasmat's owner is private information at this time. Or if you want to be less coy, you go "the Tuareg Doctor is in hidden deployment", because, frankly, who are you trying to fool anyway?
Could you re-explain why the nasmat is disconnected while the touareg is in hiddent deployement ? I remember reading it but not the explaination behind it
That was the N2 Servant rules. They wouldn't be in the Disconnected state, but as you can't spend Orders on the controller without revealing them from Hidden Deployment there's very little practical difference.
Ok so they are not disconnected but cannot receive order without revealing their owner. But in reactive turn, they can ARO without any restriction (as G:Servant ARO is not tied to its owner) and without revealing the touareg (as long as the touareg and nasmat don't have an ARO against the same order) => That's a big difference
"This weapon generates a Very Difficult Terrain and Saturation Zone of infinite height in its Zone of Control." Well this is a problem. A Zone of Control is only projected 8 inches high (or 4, I guess -- 4 up and 4 down). So there's VDT and Saturation Zone of infinite height in a zone of only 4 inches height total?
ZoC is 8" up and down from the Silhouette so it's usually 17"+ depending on the height of the trooper. But in this case it is infinite height, so the upper and lower limits are ignored.
"A trooper's Zone of Control is an area 8 inches extending from the border of its base, as measured vertically or horizontally. The Zone of Control is projected upwards and downwards in a cylinder 8 inches high." I would read this as the height of the cylinder being 8 inches total, rather than the cylinder extending 8 inches in both directions (especially because it says the cylinder is "8 inches high") -- shouldn't it say the cylinder is 16 inches high if this is the case (or for the sake of phrasing, "extends 8 inches up and 8 inches down")? Also it extends from the base of the troop, so it is the same height for all troops (but wider for troops with different sized bases).
I guess "base" may be substituted by "marker" for those in marker state, and "you know what I mean" for those in Hidden Deployment?
You're correct. I imagine this is a case of CB forgetting their own rules. I'm sure they were referring to the ZoC circle created on the ground then extending infinitely high. Spanish phrasing any better?
Huh... Assuming the total height is 8" shouldn't the radius only be 4"? Edit, I think I'm going to have to assume it does in fact mean a cylinder 16" in total height with a diameter of 16"
The first sentence is only referring to the horizontal axis. Extending out and around as an 8" Radius. The second sentence is referring to the vertical axis. Extending 8" above the base and 8" below.
I agree based the diagram as well, but the English phrasing is really awkward because when you say a cylinder is x inches high, you mean that its total height from bottom to top is that length.
