Busy busy Saturday for me. Keisotsu done, final two tanko done. 6 models to get painted by next Saturday to play fully painted at an event. Probably won't quite make it, but I'm trying [emoji16][emoji108]

Full groups shot below. Started painting these guys in the first week of May, so I'm pretty happy with the progress so far.

Fantastic work so far! Absolutely love these! The colour scheme is wonderful! I personally have nearly finished my DBS army, but have lost a bit of momentum with the project, but the idea of photographing and uploading it all when it is finished has encouraged me to get back to it and get it done! Thanks for the inspiration man!

All it takes is picking up that brush semi-regularly. I've been quite fortunate that I moved houses and was finally able to set up a permanent painting space. Post your progress pics! It'd be great to see how the DBS come along

    Thanks for the feedback [emoji16]

Next batch of guys to go. Just these four, plus a rui shi (peacemaker) and tokusetsu to get done by next Saturday.

    That's 3 brawlers and a desperado

    First half, check

Rider to come at a later date. I just needed to get the bike on a base for this weekend. I've got suitable proxies for every other model that won't be done in time for Saturday

    I played a game of Biotechvore yesterday, vs Tohaa. I'm restricting myself to taking pieces that I can expect to get painted in a reasonably short time frame, so decided to go with a Scarface list;

    GROUP 1[IMG]
    [IMG] [IMG]7 [IMG]3 [IMG]3
    SCARFACE & CORDELIA TURNER (1.5 | 68)
    YÁOZĂO Electric Pulse. (0 | 3)
TANKŌ Missile Launcher / Pistol, Monofilament CC Weapon, Shock CC Weapon. (1.5 | 32)
KEISOTSU (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
KEISOTSU (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10)
    KEISOTSU HMG / Pistol, Knife. (1 | 17)
    BRAWLER Lieutenant Rifle + Light Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 16)
    WARCOR (360º Visor) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3)
YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 8)
YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 8)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]4 [IMG]1 [IMG]
    RUI SHI Spitfire / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 20)
TOKUSETSU EISEI Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)
NINJA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Tactical Bow / Pistol, DA CCW, Knife. (0 | 29)
YUAN YUAN Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, Shock CCW. (0 | 8)
DAIYŌKAI MULTI Marksman Rifle, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CC Weapon, AP CC Weapon. (0 | 52)

    5.5 SWC | 298 Points

To be honest I would probably prefer to run Wu Ming in Biotechvore, but like I said, not painted. I had Scarface fail to get out of the 16" by about 2mm and take 2 wounds to the zone. Not ideal. The game was pretty bloody with neither of us having 75 points remaining at the end, but I didn't manage to get any of my classifieds done, whereas my opponent got 2.

He managed to eraser my lieutenant in his turn three, and without command tokens I couldn't accomplish much. I could have potentially had Cordelia complete all 3 of my classifieds in that last turn otherwise (Test Run, Sabotage, Nanoespionage) as she was in walking distance of all of the requirements.

How would you play YYs in Biotechvore? That additional -3 PH seems pretty brutal. I walked one in my table edge to throw smoke on the Rui Shi, the second walked in the side at -3 and the third jumped in at -6. Luckily they all passed their rolls, but it was definitely not a sure thing.

Edit: photo from the game. This did not end well as a makaul ran through scarface and the link with its flamethrower.

I've got a 3 round event tomorrow, and I'll have some more in-game shots to share.

I played in a 3 round, 18 player ITS on Saturday. I managed to pull out a second place finish with a major win and two minor wins. The missions were Comms Centre, Biotechvore, and Safe Area. I used this list for all three rounds, despite also bringing the Scarface list.

    Ikari Horde v2

DESPERADO Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / 2 Assault Pistols, CC Weapon. (0 | 13)
    RUI SHI Spitfire / Electric Pulse. (1.5 | 20)
TOKUSETSU EISEI Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14)

So while the result was good, I definitely felt I made far too many minor mistakes - positioning issues with impetuous troops mostly, but also I never really got any use out of the ninja. I feel list the list would be pretty naked without him, but he was often sitting around in HD waiting for an opportunity, then by turn 3 I figured I may as well reveal him and he promptly gets shot off the table.

The brawler AHD was also quite a let down. I'm going to keep it in the list for a while, because I feel the aggressive tanko link needs that specialist, and it can help keep other assault hackers away from the tanko. But I spent 4 orders trying the immobilize a garuda spitfire and failed mostly due to that amazing WIP 12. I now know the pain PanO players experience on a daily basis.

Otherwise, the tanko Haris did really well, as did the YYs and Desperado. I never felt like the YYs weren't pulling their weight, even in games where they didn't actually kill anything. Highlight was game three where 2 of the YYs killed the majority of a Bolt link team at the beginning of my first turn.

The next event I have is a 2 day, 5 round affair in 4 weeks. With Rescue on the agenda, I'm thinking of taking a Wu Ming core. One of the limitations of the above list is the models that can sync a xenotech (just the Brawler lieutenant!) so I feel that will be exaggerated in a mission like Rescue.

Maybe think about the Brawler Engineer. At most the Tanko's can be immobilized, which the Engineer can take care of if they don't Reset. Then he can also take care of any isolations, has D-Charges, etc.

Thanks, I need that engagement to actually keep up with updates and painting

The Wu Ming won't be as yellow as the Tanko or Daiyokai. I mentioned earlier that I wanted the JSA themed pieces to have more of a majority yellow to them than the other stuff. They're also not fully merc themed either (like the desperado or Scarface), so I'm not entirely sure what the distribution of colours will be yet. We'll soon find out, I'm sure.

That's a pretty good idea. I'll need to find 3 points though, which will likely come at the expense of either the G:Servant, or downgrading the YYs to Shock CCWs. Thoughts?

How often do you actually use the FO Keisotsu? There's one point at least. I haven't found the DA CCW on YY to be worth it really. Unless you are playing Looting and Sabotage.

I haven't really used the FOs yet, but I like them in there for the classified spread. The DA CCWs were mostly for Frostbyte in the next tournament, but destroying the heating units isn't the main goal of the mission so I'm not going to be too disappointed by dropping them to shock CCWs.

I will say it came in handy my last game against USAriadana and all of their ARM3, however, for the most part I found them to not be needed.

@Fathoym Your paint job is wonderful and your game summaries are nicely written. Hope to see this Merc force of yours completely finished someday down the road.

Thanks :grinning: This is the first project I've ever painted where I've been truly happy with the results. So I don't see any reason to stop now!

I played another game last night with the same list but swapping out the brawler AHD for an engineer at the expense of the YYs DA CCWs, as discussed above.

Unmasking was the name of the game, and my opponent played Vanilla Haqq. I have never seen so many irregular impetuous guys on one table between us haha. I am really beginning to appreciate the unique weapon loadout of the Tanko Haris. While a contender is clearly not a fantastic gun fighting weapon on a regular basis, once you start leveraging their disposable weapons and support them with doctors/engineers they can be played super aggressively.

The Rui Shi was a star in this game, but at this point I don't think anyone is surprised how well this guy performs.

I positioned my actual designated target super aggressively to the point where it was clearly at risk, but the double bluff paid off and my opponent selected it as the third option. I correctly guessed his on my first attempt, but lost my datatracker early to a long ranged, unopposed daylami shotgun ARO. The game ended 6-3 in my favor.
