Hah, you are right about deployables....read that rule when I began with Infinity, misunderstood it and never read it again to this day.
I legit love the Tuareg Doctor and Hacker profiles. Really strong, and BS 11 aint so bad when you've got a Light Shotgun and have TO Camo!
It's not like you have a choice once you pick their 8 pts version for your list. That part being optional would be stupidly strong on them, I feel, even if that bumps their cost.
Well, no wonder. The Proxies are some of the very few models in infinity that could be considered broken. Also, if a single proxy is locking down boards with you in Haqq you really need to switch tactics a bit ( smoke does wonders). But anyway. BS 11 is not bad. Not on a TO camo piece. The enemy can choose to shoot back - at -6 from the TO, or he can dodge. Either way, you did what you wanted to do - forced him to waste orders on a non-optimal way. BS 11 with a sniper rifle is good enough that most troops can't simply ignore it - and your sniper costs 0.5 SWC. You don't know how important that is. Mines are actually very good for a sniper. You want him on your deployment zone, and he can spend a order to protect himself and your flank. About Infiltration... yeah, you are right. It is seldom when it is good to infiltrate forward with a sniper. Yes, it can. Any TO piece with a Combi will win firefights on the active turn. Also, all of them will be vulnerable to DTW. But you immediately have a great disposable assault piece that is not too expensive. You don't want the doctor for healing, you want him because he is a infiltrating hidden deployment specialist. He is also a great assault piece if needs come to be. Again, you are missing the most important part of the tuareg: Hidden deployment. The Ragik needs to *land* somewhere on your turn, the Tuareg is already there. Enemy TAG or HI moving up field? Wouldn't it be a shame if he suddenly found that he walked in a position that has a tuareg on the top of the roof? Shooting the original target and getting hacked unnoposed ( and being hacked on the next order ) or resetting and getting shot unnoposed? Hacking ( especially assault hacking) is not a active turn tool, its much more effective at your defensive turn. Hidden Deployment give you the option to spring a surprise on your enemy, forcing him to waste a lot of orders in a much worse situation than he wanted to in the first place.
Right, I second the request above. I realized that I kind of want to do that with my starter Tuareg too for two reasons, although I'm not sure how to go about it. The way that Tuareg is, it's hard to mix-and-match parts between her and other models.
Those look absolutely beautiful. Well done! Now I need to go buy a second and third starter set to follow your lead... Did you have any trouble with the old Ghulam arms? I'm tempted to use the old female Ghulam with her rifle held down in one hand to go with the medipistol.
Awesome. Am I correct that some of those parts you've used for the second model are "native" to the original model?
The Red Viel and Ghulam doc parts go together almost perfectly. You just need to file things down a little bit. The rifle took a little work mostly because of the wait it lined up with itself but its not a complicated or odd looking arm swap.
I'm considering using a Farzan rifle set myself, if it also lines up. Just because the Tuareg is sighting down her weapon, so I want to try and use a raised female Haqq Rifle+LSg for the conversion I need to give my second Farzan a Boarding Shotgun anyway (although I dunno where a female Haqq BSg will be coming from).
Ragik from beyond red veil and the Ghazi Muttawiah with BSG are the first two that come to mind for me
Ooh good shout on the Ragik, for sure. She's got the weapon up for use too, so it'd probably go with the Farzan pose nicely!
