Daft questions just coming back to the game and picked up Draikos and Scylla. Seen in her profile she can take 2 Devabots, does that mean she has 2 of the one in her profile with the Heavy Flamer? Also when activating do they essentially work as a link team moving as one with her as the leader or does I spend orders to move the Devabot as an independent model? Cheers
Yes to the first thing you say, it's possible to deploy her with 2 or 1 devabots (in fact, the box comes with her, Drakios, and 2 devabots). This is the same thing to the Arjuna and her 2 bots, or the Chimera (nomads/bakunin/Foreign Legion) and her 1/2/3 pupniks. As for the second question, it's the same as any other ghost: synchronized there is (yudbots, for example), and it's not relevant the amount of syncronized units there are. They all are activated like a single unit, spending 1 order to move + dodge, for example, or dodge + shoot. They are mostly similar to Fireteams, but one of the main differences is that in Reactive turn they all must perform the same ARO, unlike Fireteams who can have their members perform different ones (and breaking the fireteam). Also, if the controller (Scylla, in this case) goes into a Null state, ALL her syncronized units deactivate (you can heal her and the bots will reactivate), or if the bots are outside of Scyllas Zone of Control, they get Deactivated until she moves to be in range again (while Fireteam members just get kicked out of the fireteam).
Fun is Scylla + 2 Devabots + Danavas + 2x Arjuna with 2 bots each in LI with Deva+devabot packs... Something like this: ALEPH ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 DANAVAS Hacker (Hacking Device Plus. UPGRADE: Maestro) Combi Rifle + Pitcher / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 25) DEVA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser + Devabot / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (4) SCYLLA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device UPGRADE: Maestro) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser + 2 Devabots Charybdis / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon. (0.5 | 34) DEVABOT CHARYBDIS Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (7) DEVABOT CHARYBDIS Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (7) ARJUNA Spitfire, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 40) x2 KIRANBOT E/Marat, Cybermines / Electric Pulse. (8) DEVA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser + Devabot / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (4) DEVA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser + Devabot / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (4) SOPHOTECT Combi Rifle, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 31) YUDBOT Electric Pulse. (0 | 3) PROXY Mk.2 MULTI Sniper Rifle, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 24) PROXY Mk.4 Heavy Rocket Launcher, Submachine Gun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 20) PROXY Mk.5 (Forward Observer) 2 Submachine Guns, Nanopulser, E/M Grenades / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 10) NETROD . (0 | 4) DEVA Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Nanopulser + Devabot / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27) DEVABOT Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (4) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army Total units/orders: 10 Total models on the table: 20 Sure, there are other armies able to do this, but as a silly idea, this one has potential (not really for winning, but...)
Scylla is an excellent piece. Drakios is damn useful too! Considering I was underwhelmed when they were first released I've totally changed my mind now and they're getting used loads!
Im thinking if theres a way I can run Steel Phalanx with 2 x Fireteams of Characters/Myrms plus Scylla and a sniper of some sort for a 10 man list.
Actually Yudbots are Ghost:Servant and you can only activate one per order: A Doctor/Engineer can have more than one G: Servant troopers, but he can only activate them one at a time, applying all the previous conditions. Meanwhile, the other G: Servant troopers will be inactive.
Sure you can. For example: Steel Phalanx ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 10 1 MACHAON Lieutenant Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 38) PHOENIX Heavy Rocket Launcher, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Heavy Pistol, DA CCW. (2 | 40) MYRMIDON Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 25) MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 16) EUDOROS Mk12, Nanopulser, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 40) MYRMIDON OFFICER (Chain of Command) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser, Eclipse Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 35) MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 16) MYRMIDON Chain Rifle, Nanopulser, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, AP CCW. (0 | 16) ATALANTA MULTI Sniper Rifle + TinBot E (Spotter) / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 39) SCYLLA Hacker (Killer Hacking Device UPGRADE: Maestro) Boarding Shotgun, Nanopulser + 2 Devabots Charybdis / Pistol, E/M CC Weapon. (0.5 | 34) DEVABOT CHARYBDIS Heavy Flamethrower / Electric Pulse. (7) 5.5 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army
Yeah, I wrote it in a confusing way before (was thinking "it doesn't matter how many synchronized" not ghost in general) All units with Ghost: X indicate the type. For example, servants are like Syncronized... but you can only activate one at a time with its controller if there are more than one, in exchange being able to be at any distance of their "master" and keep going. Or the Ghost: Mnemonica, which are the physical projections of the Evolved Intelligence, etc... Problem with that is most of the non-characters will be just ablative meat with chain rifles... Personally, I prefer to change Scylla & Atalanta for a mk12-toting Agema (quite enough to clean at ground level, and the X-Visor grants him a lot more range than you would think) and Diomedes (for an AD trooper who can clean behind enemy lines).
Im loving getting back into the game, had one last night running Steel Phalanx against Combined, opponent picked a lot of MSV options so shredded my Myrmidons quite easily, ended up tabled start of turn 3 (losing a lot in AROs) and he set up a minefield at both ends of cover for one of my fireteams (not sure how to avoid them at all when theyre dropped right next to me other than risking a dodge) Havnt had Scylla arrive in post yet but Diomedes and Scylla are the next ones I want to try out.
This is where Drakios is quite useful as MSV troopers can't see him or his bots until the second game turn!
Nice! Quick question, can a model that deploys mines drop all 3 (for 3 orders) right next to my models (who cant see the minelayer) ? Situation being he did this, then hid then shot me from distance with another model so when I ARO'd with one model the mines went off on the whole fireteam.....
You can only change facing against the mine being planted (this does not active the mine that is being planted in that order) as long as you don't have LoF to the minelayer. Yes, its quite the standart movement to place a corner mine, then shoot in another order. Most people uses the minelayer, however, specially if they have a shotgun of any kind, to grab several enemy models at once, or with the combi if not (more dice = better odds to wound the single target).
You can only deploy a single mine per order/ARO, and the mine doesn't become active until the next order so can never detonate the same Order it is placed. You can trigger multiple mines in a single Order/ARO if they were all already on the board beforehand.
