So I’ve started my 4 th faction and non of my factions are traditional colours. Aleph blue grey, Tak snow camo, and nomads a forest green. Need some inspiration for my Yu Jing not a fan of orange armour... please help..
I once saw a Yu Jing play against, I think, an Aleph where both had painted their armies in a particular Varuna-ish green-teal and light grey. Very confusing to look at, but the teal did look good on Yu Jing figurines.
My Yu Jing have dark jade green armour with gray cloth/camo pattern and red visors and emblems. I tried to make this pattern somewhat suitable for taiga climate.
Uploaded these for you, I went for a sort of near future spec ops theme with a not to the Yu Jing orange. Haidao being blue for navy.
Some ideas from back when I was considering colour scheme for my YJ: In the end I decided to limit myself with jade, black and orange, although the shame is currently evolving a bit. So IS models have black armour and jade coloured fabric. IA colour will be reversed (also I want to try adding digital camo). White banner will be probably light grey with jade/orange elements. So the goal is to have distinct looking sectorials but a coherent look for the whole army.
I'm going with a flatter, terracotta color for my YJ armor. It's still a little orange, but it's a simple earth tone instead of the bright saturated orange that is the studio scheme. Same color as a flower pot! And then I do weird things like use blue fluorescent paints for the muscle and glowy bits.
That's more the scheme I'm going for. Third Offensive has a little fluff along with a few different colour schemes.
I'm loving these color schemes and I thought I'd toss my own IA and friends (mostly proxy's for things like the hulang) into the mix. I went with purple and a blue tinted green that was inspired by Seige's 707, as I wanted to go for a korean auxiliary, which was going to include some free hand on the bigger and flatter surfaces of the zhuyong's and the guijia. The purple got wetblended and hilighted to something completely different, but I'm rather happy with the result as early runs with a mostly grey purple just had no detail standing out on the table.
Woo that white tiger is marvelous, if CB release four divine beasts legion in IA, it would be much much hypes. Beasts are; Black Tortoise for North Red Sparrow for South Blue Dragon for West White Tiger for East Would loooove to see four Zuyong regions!!
Anyone got an example to show for the black tortoise, even though I'm terrified to change my scheme at this point. Never heard of these before.
This is the pic of Black tortoise; Snake and Tortoise converged, its aspects are Waters, War, and Winter.
