    Mine is similar to that one. Powered by an old plugpack charger. Puts out 11.5vDC @1a (I made it back in the dim, dark past before cellphones (well, before I had one, anyway. It's had the wire replaced twice in 20-odd years).

    The nichrome wire is available in packs from Jaycar electronics stores in Oz (cat. WW4040).
