I like the 40K Funcos and am very much looking forward to the Bandai chibis. I would buy similar Infinity items with no hesitation.
There was already a Chibi Musashi, the same year they sold the Unknown Ranger special edition and the double Musashi box... Expect Chibi Juana, Chibi Achilles... XD
Season 1(the Tactical Marines) is the only one that has been "ROW". If you have that, then you're caught up. I honestly don't know if they're available to you in Oceania yet. Season 2(Terminators) hasn't been made available anywhere else outside of Japan yet, it's just been announced that they'll go ROW this year.
Chibi Musashi was a rejected Aristeia! prototype that was released as a fun promo though, rather than an attempt at making collectibles.
I really wish that you could buy an entire box of those and get all the models in one go. There's only, what, 16 models in a box and there are odds listed as 1 in 36. Means you'd need to buy 3 boxes IF they're appropriately randomized.
I'll check on Saturday for you, but I do know that you can buy an entire box and you should get all the models.
Yeah, collectible toys are best if you have access to others to trade with or a second hand market to buy specific models.
I haven't checked yet, but I kept thinking that I saw the "chances" for everything somewhere...and I had! They have it right on the box. :P So, you'd be looking at something like 3 displays(12 boxes--9 models all told) to get 'everything'. Amusingly, it would give you at least 3 Tactical Squads, an HQ, and what can now be fielded as Lieutenants...meaning a viable army. :P
Yeah, that's the problem. If you could buy one of those displays and have one of everything in it, it'd be fine. But if you have to buy multiple displays to get 36 models (for that 1 in 36 chance of the blacked-out Captain), well, you might end up with 3 of them or you might end up with none.
Again, this is where you want to have a healthy second hand market and/or trade partners. There are ebay listings for complete sets or the chase figures that probably cost less than buying full cases until you happen to luck into them.
So, looked at it. A "carton"(read: the shipment a shop might get) is 3 of the displays, and it is supposed to(barring mispacks) have numbers matching those on the box. Apparently there's some legal voodoo that required it.
You're still going to need at least 3 displays(36 packs all told) to fill out a 'complete' set...unfortunately.
So, spendy. When isn't GW stuff spendy? But buy an entire case of 3x Displays and you have everything.
Should add that I had it stressed to me to make sure it was an unopened case of the 3 displays. There was also apparently something relating to the SKUs that could tell you whether it's a 5:36, 1:12, 1:6 but the 1:36 is randomized--not sure if it still holds true though.
This is more about the blind box format than GW, really. It costs a lot to fill out a Dunny collection, too.
