I love the models. For almost 40 points, they seem to be lacking in some punch. I could see having an Ayyar as a survivable data tracker being a good option (because apparently holoprojector is acceptable for a data tracker?). It's a interesting profile for hunting fragile targets and cheerleaders, but I feel like a Lasiq is a better option (FD1 and climbing plus, oh right, all that viral as well). How do you use this guy?
I hide him disguised as something else, then fire up the holo-echos and go hunting. They are surprisingly mobile as while your opponent can hold their ARO, you just move on to the position you want and they are out of luck.
I add them to almost every HB list I make. Then I remove them when I'm half way though it... I like the idea of using them to clear the midfield of mines and other deployables and then set them up in suppression, but it usually doesn't work that way.
My Ayyar always performs extremely well. Hidden threat, specialist, viral pistols and marksman rifle makes him a good active shooter up to 24" especially with surprise shot, can take a wound... Very strong troop.
I used him a lot the past year in hassasin. Ayar is a great profile (both of the options at least, because the snipper choice is... meh). I played most the Fusil+E/Mitter+DEP and I had really good results. Most of the games I did use of him in mid or late game, 2º or 3º turn, where the enemy is closer to your position or when you have moved a little forward. Sometimes is a good ARO piece, because you can disguisse like a Barid, or something like that and wehn the enemy shoot the "little guy" you can fire back with a E/mitter or a DEP, both options can scare too many troups. Funny thing is I use the HOLO more in Level One, than level two for the Ayar. Between Fiday, Farzan Minelayer, etc. you can hide some costs, and made unclear what profile are you playing for real: a Barid? an Ayar? I use a lot too Yasbir. If you go frequently into tournaments or play against same people, isn`t hard to change only the ayar for Yasbir or viceversa, you can disguisse the Yasbir like an Ayar. The funny thing here is when you play several games against the same people they never know exactly who is "that troop". Some times, if I play the cheap core of ghulams, I place two Ayar in the muttas group and when gaps are made in the main group I move them with "free agent".
