Technically, the rider doesn't have a chain rifle. It's listed as equipment, and implied it is part of a subset of equipment on the AI motorcycle. I'm just holding out hope it's a design choice to limit the number of skus need for this one unit.

right, but the AI motorcycle already has its own chain riffle under the bike. it is not like the rider was shooting with a HRMC ammo linked to the bike. he has a human wearable chain rifle while riding which is distinct and not needed by the bigger chain rifle the AI has. The design is different than the iguana HMG which breaks up into a smaller HMG for the dismounted (ejected) HI pilot.

Man, I hope they do a second sculpt of the BSG or the ass hacker. I would love to run multiple Zondnauticas but I don't want to buy and paint the same three models more than once.

all come with unique poses for the maximum zoom zooms.

They should absolutely just do a blister pack with 2 more riders and not the bike/bot again.

The Seraph was meant to be a Stingray TAG like the Uhlan and the Tikbalang, but was sculpted too big so the rules were changed to make it S7 (from what I recall).

Guess they liked the sculpt too much to just do another and reuse that for later.

Has anyone had luck with the Zondnautica in vanilla? I keep wanting to put it into a list but I'm struggling to find a roll for it that isn't filled by something else. Curious if anyone has advice on how to run this unit or if I should just read tactics guides for other faction's bikes.

I haven't played them in Vanilla, but I played the AHD in supplies. That covinced me that an 8-4 Impetuous specialist that can self smoke an objective should be extremely efficient in Vanilla. He had a supply box part way back to my DZ using only one order from the regular pool.

Damn, that's a compelling argument, I was thinking of the unit as more of a warband or midfield hunter. I mostly play CJC so fast move+smoke clicked as an alternative McMurrough and I got tunnel vision there.

Looks like Zondnautica would be great for turn three objective runs if you can keep it alive long enough. Or even turn one if you can neutralize opponent's MSV2 ARO pieces, which Vanila/TJC has no problem with thanks to White Noise.

    Thanks for sharing your experience!

I am not really sold on the Bot with wheels on knits back. Anyone any good alternative ideas?

I guess we have to wait if the Silhouette of the Bot is staying S4 or will change to S2. If it stays something like a Tachikoma where the rider sits in the back and basically no transformation happens would be fitting, though, I am not sure if I like that, something like a rider on the back of the Su Jian Mobility Form might work, bit I am not really sold on that either.
A tricycle out of the Probots maybe? :/

According to the profile, the Zondmate that is created when the Zondnaut dismounts is S4, just like the mounted ZondNautica unit. I would be surprised if they changed the profile just because they finally released the model. I expect the robot with the tires sticking out its back to look pretty silly on a 55mm base while covering less than half of the available base size.

Yeah it's gonna look pretty silly, that's why I am gonna wait for the release, it's weird to change the Silhouette after the release but it happened before (with the Seraph).

I was thinking a little bit more about it and I might go with an Auxbot with a step and handle on the back, kinda like the old Haqq monowheelbikes and a little bit like a seagway. Also Auxbots are pretty cool designs in general and it might even make sense to mod one for a crazy Nomad biker to his liking.
Plus it might look good on any base size. :)

Not sure yet what mini to use for the rider yet, if it's placed beside it it could be any LI or MI really, but mounted the body position is a bit tricky, but not impossible.

S4 will be pretty silly if the zondnautica is as tall and narrow as the render looks. Still though, the render also makes the unit look cool as hell, so I will be playing with that model for certain. Maybe two.

Army is updated. Zondmate is S5. So just a bit higher than the S2 pilot, and on a 40mm base.

Army web still lists it at S4... Also considering the size of the S, it would be a kick in the bollocks to all of us using other motorcycles as proxies...
Not to mention a S5 model is taller than S2, but has a "S3" base...

make sure to refresh. it was announced on facebook page of Infinity. And when i checked Army (with a ctrl+F5 refresh) the announced sil change for the REM was present.

I'm also using motorcycle as proxy (and planning to convert the andromeda dog as a proxy), but with the designed released, same base or not a motorcycle or guard metal dog is not a close look-alike proxy. I guess i'm lucky in that I have a bike still on its 40mm base from N2 (and i'm using 40-to-55mm base conversion acrylic rings).

Ah, was looking to the mounted model. This is quite ridiculous, frankly... a S2, S5 & S4 model for the same unit... kinda passing on that, frankly.

I’m actually excited to test it out. With the dismount ability I could see a use for dismounting, sending the zondmate forward and using it as cover for the rider.

OK, then I'm out. Had the parts for my own conversion at home, but now I haven't to build one.
Everybody who build his own zondmate can search another use for it.
