Can a biker deploy off of their vehicle? For instance a Bounty Hunter that rolls a bike for Booty or a Kum Biker that wants to deploy on a building?

Only the AI-Motorcycle used by the Zondnautica has rules allowing them to deploy unmounted.

So if I deploy an ABH sniper on a building and he rolls up a Motorcycle with no stairs. Does he need to start mounted on it?

Yes, fortunately they also gain an 8" Jump out of the result.

Yes, but can't you just use your first order moving it to dismount? The only problem happens when you physically can no longer place the model where it once was because of the silly change.

Ug they really need to fix booty to be before deployment! That's just dumb and lazy. This is like a video game glitch where a guy can't go through a door that he's already done several times.

Allowing motorcycle users to deploy dismounted (with the bike in their ZoC) would solve a lot of problems. What happens if you deploy an ABH on a rooftop and there's not enough space for the 55mm base to fit?

Maybe don't roll on the table with a bike if you're worried about the risk of getting one?

How do they fall if they can't move straight down without impacting terrain? Also, how do you fall in the Deployment phase?

Damn, with Zondnautica releasing soon being able to start dismounted could be useful.

Edit: Derp. AI Motorcycle allows them to deploy as separate units...
    • Troopers possessing an AI Motorcycle can choose to deploy with their Mounted Trooper or Dismounted Trooper Profile at his or her player's will.

I'm fairly certain that a model forced into a spot where the terrain doesn't allow it to physically be would cause the model to go IMM-2 until such a time as the situation is resolved. Thus, putting an ABH in a very tight alley and gaining a Motorcycle would cause it to be deployed on a Motorcycle that's inside the walls and IMM-2 for the entire game.
This is the primary reason why I think any model with multiple profiles that they can switch between at will should be allowed to deploy using the profile of their choice.

The rules as far as I can tell doesn't support a model ever getting into a spot where only parts of its base is supported, and they don't support the model being nudged into a spot where it is supported (accidentally jumping to a spot where it'd fall to an unsupported position would cause the Jump to be cut short to a spot in the Jump arc where it can land supported, as far as I can read)

As I said it is not the best answer, or the best interaction.

Hmm, I didn't remember the thing about falling.

How does that work, though? You'll still not be able to deploy the model in a manner that's allowed by the rules. How far are you allowed to move the model so that it can fall? Which direction? What if there's a railing so that both the first and the second clause applies, which takes precedence?

    ?

It's not specified, so I'd suggest making the shortest displacement that gets the trooper off the surface.

I don't think it's possible for both to apply. Either it's a surface (flat plane) that the base doesn't fit on, or it's a space (a volume, so constrained by something other than just a flat plane) that isn't big enough. So your railing example would cause IMM-2.

If the model falls, the model can not be placed in a position where it matches either the centre of the base or the arc of circumference is what I mean.

Otherwise, thank you for the clarification. Adding that link to my document of hard to find rules.
