Working my way back around from StarCo and trying my hand at vanilla again. Gotta get my head away from links and relearn basic tactics.

Upcoming tournament has Recuse and I'd like some suggestions for units to help complete this mission. So far I'm leaning to Bran for getting the Civilian. Hecklers, Sin Eaters, and Kriza for zone defense.

Anyone have some insight from their vanilla experience with this mission?

Koalas, Jammers and Mines/Minelayer are really valuable here. A lot of units with those rules also make decent Civvie Runners too. It's a lot like playing Supplies... If you can make your opponent stumble when they're attempting an early-game run, it means you don't have to go chasing them down in Turn 2 and Turn 3. These defensive assets also give your own civvie runners a place to retreat to, so they retain their value as the game progresses.

Jammers in particular are stupid. Isolation causes the Civevac state to break.

I'd drop Z&P. They're AWESOME. But Pi-well does not like terrain. So they're not ideal for this particular mission.

Heckler KHDs are really quite solid for this mission. Start them in B2B with the terrain zone and you basically get to ignore it.

Liberatos are also a good option as a back up striker but principal defensive option.

Spektr Sniper is a great pick. The Sat Zone plays to their strengths as an ARO option.

    Something like this I think:

    Nomads
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    GROUP 1[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]10
    INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42)
PUPPET MASTERS (Minelayer) Submachine Gun, Antipersonnel Mines / PistolKnife. (0.5 | 14)
    HECKLER Combi Rifle, Jammer, 1 FastPanda / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
    HECKLER Combi Rifle, Jammer, 1 FastPanda / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23)
    SIN-EATER Spitfire / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 31)
BRAN DO CASTRO (Specialist Operative) Combi Rifle + E/Mitter / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 37)
SECURITATE Lieutenant Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13)
    SECURITATE Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13)
ZERO (Minelayer) Combi Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 19)
    TOMCAT Doctor (MediKit) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower + 1 Zondcat / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 26)
    [IMG] ZONDCAT Electric Pulse. (4)

    GROUP 2[IMG] [IMG] [IMG]1 [IMG]3 [IMG]2
SPEKTR MULTI Sniper Rifle, Antipersonnel Mines / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 39)
    MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 6)
    LIBERTO Submachine Gun, Chain-colt, D.E.P. / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 8)
    MORLOCK Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, E/M CCW. (0 | 6)

I went with Zondcat to preserve the option of ADing the Tomcat. But this may just be one of the few occasions that Zero G is more useful.

Principal civive grabbers are Bran, the Hecklers and the Tomcat. Spare orders turn 1 should be used promoting the Hecklers into the midfield where they can cover vs enemy advances / preposition to grab Civvies.

Bran is basically designed to grab a Civvie early or to sit on top of a building threatening to grab a Civvie at any moment.

Turn 1 it wouldn't be a bad option to push your Intruder HMG into the midfield but covered by the Sin-Eater and Spektr so he's not worth digging out.

You can swap the Sin-Eater and Liberatos. A Liberatos in Group 1 will look like a Bandit, and nobody will think anything of you using his irregular order to push forward.
