Hello everyone Today I built a very unuseal list (for me) for Onyx. The mission we are going to play is Transmission Matrix for which I set up this list. It is absolutely not what I am playing with Onyx. The Rodok Assault Hacker and the T-Drone are units I never take. But I think it may worth it here or am I crazy? (0 | 8) 6 SWC | 300 Points Open in Infinity Army In my optinion the list has the following pros: - Strong Hacking - Lots of Orders - Unidron Plasma Sniper - Can attack Linkteams (E-Drone) - Can attack savely (T-Drone) And cons: - very obivious and vulnerable Lt. - No Back-Up-Rambo for the Unidron Sniper - Just weak FtF ARO-Pieces - Order inefficient (T-Drone) - No Infiltrators/Drop Troopers I really don't know if this could work... What do you think???
KHD absolutely owns your list killing your lieutenant. Better don´t play a 1 Wound liut hacker, trust me.
If you are afraid of KHDs, you Lt can put a nullifier down, don't worry about it, you can use the Lt order for buffing your REMs too. A Lt Specialist is awesome, and with Onyx, you will always have a obvious Lt.
Yes KHD is defenitely a thing... but I thought maybe the opponent won't risk his KHD for a one shot with just a medium chance of success. If my opponent goes first I would include the Nexus Lt. in the Link, which give an opponent hacker a -3 Mod because of TinBot A and another -3 from Kaleidoskope from the EVO. So he suffers a -6. And if he uses one uf the repeaters from the Scenario to attack me, this will grant all my Hackers an ARO. So Nexus respond with suckerpunch which give the opponent a -9 to his WIP. Addionally Umbra, EVO, Bit, and Rodok AHD have unopposed rolls. But if KHD succed and kill my Nexus with his first attempt, I have a serious problem... I just don't know if people would risk this. Nore if he would choose the Nexus. Depending on the oppenents List the other hackers may be good targets as well. When its my turn I can save my Nexus with the nullifier.
Is actually true that you can deploy a Nullifier, but you need to take care of getting the initiative and I though that is better to be the second one in this mission. In fact of this, I won´t play any type of Hacker LT cuz this, even if I have Evo, Tinbot and that kind of stuff. Protecting your LT is a lot of important in this game, and IMO is better to keep alive. In our metagame (Spanish one) I found KHD in almost every enemy list. Keep that in mind...
Okay I just made a few changes so that Lt. is a bit better protected. Kicked out Umbra HD+ and Rodok for a Malignos Assault-Hacker. Do you think this could work? I play this mission all the time, Onyx Hacker Lts are fine, the Nexus comes equipped with a Nullifier incase of enemy KHDs. With Bit & Umbra you can really go on the offensive vs their hackers, Overdrons & Unidrons come equipped with Tinbots and you should consider an E-Drone for support! :)
