@Ginrei You got your answer in the previous thread, this thread cannot be about asking for an answer you already got, now if the thread was discussing the answer it is another matter.
Opening a new thread when the question is already “asked and answered” does tend to lead folks to dismiss the new thread...
So what is the definition of an answer? Whatever @ijw says is official and any further debate is pointless? Was there another official answer given i missed? Or was that thread just full of opinions?
Generally, yes, when the primary rules editor weighs in on the subject, that’s the end of it. If CB means something else, they’ll include it in the regular FAQs. Absent that, continuing on with the matter tends to get dismissed as complaining for the sake of complaining, and actively damages your professed goal.
I think it's fair to say that the debate at this stage comes down to some people think no, others think yes, the community in general is weighed towards yes, people's opinions are set and the trenches have been dug, and any further commentary will be less of a debate and more of an artillery duel with no winner. Ultimately you are fair to disagree however you don't want a debate, you want to be considered right. Well that's not the case, and this thread will not make it the case.
Well, if we're telling each other what we want... you want to not listen and make very inaccurate statements. You say I want to be considered right... but I've never said anything remotely close to that. I asked for an official ruling. That's all. I tried to keep this as a simple thread looking/waiting for an answer and not opinions. But that's not even possible here because the moderator allows you guys to do whatever the fuck you want. IJW's the editor how exactly? Is he akin to the CEO of a company, a newspaper Editor, or a spellcheck program? Please don't answer, I don't actually want to know.
no one ask for a higher level ruling when the ruling/answer was already favorable to what he wanted. So, yes, the answer you got was opposed to what you wanted and therefore wants an official ruling in hope that that ruling will be more aligned with the answer you were putting forward in the previous debate. Or, as Solar said.
You may not have said that's what you wanted. But that doesn't make it untrue. Unfortunately there isn't a 100% clear arbiter of the rules but for the sake of peace we tend to agree in certain rulings from certain people because of their involvement with the testing of the game's rules, their involvement in the development of the wiki etc. Without a FAQ ruling that is as good and "official" as it gets. If you don't want to go along with that fine, but there is a general acceptance that most of us will, which is important when it comes to the game's existence as a tournament game.
@Solar & @Robock You're both wrong, and if you bothered to ask real questions instead of making assumptions you might have learned something instead. I don't care if I'm right or wrong. I want to hold CB just a little bit accountable for these shit rules. If they have to keep giving official rulings or clarifications they might just take a little more care next time.
But how are those quotes about being toxic and picking a fight with you? It answered your question and you just seem to have a problem with the answer tbh.
Enough with the attacks already So what are the real questions? I can accept that while we thought the bullet-points were well written and understandable by the community they may be not, I can accept criticism on the potential armour/BTS boost some models may have and I can accept input on the skills and equipment format, but as I said above this thread is asking for an answer already been given by a member that officially is involved with the rules.
