Don't get carried away by stuff like save chance, crit chance etc. when final odds that incorporate all mathematical factors are known to you already. Like I said above, you're looking at a unit that will take 2-3 orders to remove with a proper active piece for 24 points, not doing much else. This gets interesting on later turns (early on a single wound is all your opponent needs tbh, and that's 50-60%), but it's not something HB cannot normally do with its normal pieces. For the record, most TAGs are mediocre shooters. So happens that for majority of them it's also all they can do, but that's another matter.
It was announced that it will be at the official release on April 25th. But there was a question mark if they would make it to this date.
I got the book a few days ago and here are some of the interesting and odd things I noticed Yu Jing have dual wield for 1 xp so can make a combination of exp ccw, mono ccw, dual wield and MA 4 for 5 xp. Could use climbing plus or sumper jump for approaching. Ariadna only have AP ccw. Tohaa only have viral Haq and Tohaa can pay 3xp for ikhol... lvl 1.. awesome. Tohaa also have zero other cc related skills Red Fury is 5 xp, sptfire is 6, 1xp and losing shock for 1dmg is pointless Tohaa have stratscloud for 2xp. Might be useful? No wound cap is 8xp but +1 wound is 5xp Deva spec op seems really good. A few possible combinations: +1w, Red fury and +1bs +1w, odd Odd+red fury. Too "bad" hacker/doctor + 1w and red fury/odd is 13 xp. Overall the charts are bit underwhelming with lots overlap and strange options. A common basic chart with ap cc, exp cc, nwi, spitefire, hmg etc would have been useful and much easier to read. A lot of space is wasted to say that almost all factions can get a spitfire for 6xp or d-charges for 1 and such.
It's Mimetism + Saturation on the owner for just 2 points, Mimetism on its own is 5 pts now, so it's really effective.
Darn. I'd been hoping my MRRF wouldn't need to keep relying on limited-supply D-Charges to compete in Looting and Sabotaging whenever the extra was available. At least the presence of Dazers means that Metros now possess a unique capability (for spec-ops) against the two armies that use the devices. Anything relevant to any of the Classifieds (like Sensor, MSV, etc.) lying around the equipment tables?
Bolts and Zhanying have a PSA: never waste points or XP on Spitfire, always go for the more affordable Red Fury. Nearly all REM, HI, TAGs and 2w troopers agree on this, the evidence is overwhelming they say. Zhencha disagrees, though.
Just posting to say that the new Spec-Ops options appear to be live on Army. And that Brawler Spec-Ops seem to be able to choose an "EVO Repeater" as an equipment choice, which links to the EVO Hacking Device entry on the wiki. Not sure if it's a bug.
After some quick experimentation, I have discovered that PanO can combine Albedo, AD:4 and Drop Bears inside a 12XP budget. I look forward to making MSV snipers wish they had never been born. Also, is it just me, or are Ariadna's options far weaker than any other faction's?
The rebalancing if some of the costs are very disappointing. 5 points for the last CC upgrade. Feels way to much for such a niche skill Also I agree that the ariadnan choices are a bit underwhelming. Defensive Hacking device is a huge let down. Premium hike on msv1, skills felt kinda meh. (Except for scavenger)
Posted this one the JSA sub but there seem to be a mistake in the book that is also now present in Army. NA2 does not have the Cube equipment option, that means JSA has the only Spec-ops which can't get cube. On the other hand Yu Jing has the Cube upgrade but both of their Spec-ops (Zhanshi and Celestial Guard) already have Cubes. It seems the upgrade tables where made with the assumption that JSA are still part of Yu Jing.
Something else which turned out to be a possibility: Celestial Guards and Bakunin Moderators can attain BTS 12 and Bioimmunity, for a glorious 15 total save in cover. Notably, this means just about every non-MULTI Shock and Viral weapon in the game needs to crit in order to wound, and nano-based, Mines or Jammer defenses have almost as little chance of doing anything. Comparatively situational, but I'm very happy to have the opportunity to run right through most of the annoying guff the midfield can throw at me.
Nomads really seemed to get lame options for a faction that is supposed to have lots of (hacked) tech. Dunno why PanO get jammers but Nomads dont, considering both have it in faction. And Nomads dont get a lot of typical in faction stuff either (repeaters, crazy koalas, HD+ etc).
Hm, but neither is available for Spiral... :( All NA2 factions use the same table(s), which is quite... disappointing. This might explain why JSA has no Cube option, and Spiral no Tohaa stuff. Very disappointing! - And IMHO very wrong fluff-wise. But CoC is something nice for Nomads!
It seems the Specops gear, weapons and skills is in flux. At least, the Nomands no longer have Plasma Sniper Rifles at 4XP (I could understand it at 6, since 4 is for the shock ones, 5 for virals I think, and 6 for MULTI). Also some strange, but specific combos are cropping out... YJ can make a monster with CC19, Natural Born Warrior, Martial Arts, dual Wield, EXP and Monofilament CCW... XDDDD All Specops were able to get CoC for 8pts, now the contest is between that and ODD!!! (plus mimetism at +1pt from the 4 it was before... 5pts Mimetism, 7 ODD for those able to grab it)
I don't think Natural Born Warrior is available to Yu Jing. Don't have book on hand, so can't check, but I'm somewhat sure my Army isn't telling me lies.
Yeah, but Nomads have no CoC option, but suffer from 'obvious lieutenants', so a CoC options is quite handy!
