Hi! So deploying the Xenotech in CivEvac state with a trooper that qualifies for the "Synchronize Civilian" skill. Does the trooper have to be in base contact with the Xenotech? We recently played it as "yes", to err on the side of caution, but watching some bat-reps; VaulSC's recent "OSS vs PanO" video, it seems he didn't do this, and it made me wonder.
They must be in base to base to use Sync Civilian but once that happens they follow the rules for G: Synchronized. This is all stated under the CivEvac state on the wiki. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/CivEvac
Not to be snippety, but CivEvac doesn't enter the picture until you move with the Xenotech and controller. I'm asking about when deploying the Xenotech and a trooper, as if said trooper already having performed a Synchronize Civilian, as per the Xenotech deployment rules.
You deploy the Xenotech within ZOC of the trooper you wish to Synchronize with, obeying the rules for deployment skills (it cannot start in the middle with an Infiltrator, as the Xenotech does not have Infiltration etc.). You deploy the Xenotech under the assumption that you already performed Synchronize Civilian before the game started so it is not necessary to start the Xenotech in B2B.
