How is the Anacondas usefulness in Spiral? Only HMG, except the neurocientics Chaksa, the spitfire seems a bit meh though. The duo with Brawler is cool but a single Brawler is not amazing, the most obvious option is the engineer for healing. But WIP 12 is risky.
Anaconda is in general pretty bad. It's not that mobile, not that durable, and not that good at shooting.
It's sad because they had a great opportunity to fix the profiles when DF came out and the Spiral Corps army was released. CB put on too small of a bandage for this unit. If it had 6-4 or even BS14 with an AP HMG I bet it would see more competitive play.
Right tool for the right task. HMG on a fairly duarble chassis is never a bad thing per se. It's a TAG to dance deadly. Given our shortcomings when it comes to long-range firefighting, this guy fills a hole in the army. A bit pricey, I admit, but 64 points will not break the bank. (Avoid the Spitfire profile like Hell. You do have the 2 points, I can assure you, to get a proper weapon.) The main pro for the Duo is your ability to drag a specialist upfields for free and relatively unmolested. If you play Highly Classified, you have STR to repair.
I do like him in MRRF. Not very competitive for what you pay but nothing is very competitive in MRRF anyway (except chasseur :) ). And arm 6 is the best you get in ariadna. In spiral I can definitdef understand why there are better thing to get for 64 pts. Except that sometimes you need a tag.
It also always leaves smoke behind when it goes down, 100% reliably. If something is hidden behind an Anaconda, the enemy flat-out can't get to it inside a turn without footslogging up the board or using MSV2. Also, as it shares Spiral with mostly Tohaa, it's your only option with multiple wounds that doesn't have a Fire vulnerability, so if you need a Datatracker and you know your opponent likes Flammenspeers and Rocket Launchers, it's just that little bit more resilient than the competition.
