Hi all new player here. As I understand the rules we don't or arent supposed to know what the enemy player is bringing to the table . So if I bring a knight of Santiago with killed hacking device and a repeater drone, then once the game begins find out the enemy player has no hacker for me to try and kill with my knight. how can I get the most use or value out of my knight and repeater that I brought that now essentially has nothing to hack

If you are playing a mission that requires specialists, your Knight is a specialist and can accomplish objectives that win you the game. Hackers also unlock the use of Remotes in your army, and Remotes are really good.

Hackers are also very common in the game, aside from Ariadna. It’s likely you will run into one most games.

Most of the time, it’s better to have a hacker and not use them, than have no hackers to counter an opponent that brought one. Military Orders fields a lot of heavy infantry, who are very vulnerable to opposing Assault Hackers. Having a Killer Hacker on your team is the easiest way to deal with them.

Killer Hackers not in a Fireteam can also use the Cybermask program to enter the Impersonation-2 state, letting them waltz past mines and gain surprise shot/attack.

The killer hacker is still a full blown knight with a combi rifle and bs14 and a da ccw. Push comes to shove he is a competent tertiary attack piece

Yes, the KHD makes for a very versatile trooper in all factions (something to be wary of, in fact). It's one of the cheapest Specialist upgrades (too cheap, IMO, but that's a different discussion).

And as mentioned, even the KHD unlocks remotes, lets you complete objectives, and doesn't cost you much firepower to take.

Your Fugazi and Pathfinder repeater drones are still excellent ARO Flashpulsers and the pathfinder is a very fast specialist troop. Mulebots have baggage, which is good for Quadrant Control and refilling depleted ammunition.

Don't forget about the powerful sensor and the fast moving 6-6 sniffer dropping Fugazi

"What if I bring a hacker and my opponent has nothing to hack?" ... Hackers still have guns for this reason.

And she still infiltrates right next to the objective to push the button.

I'd still like for her to be appropriately costed instead of being dead weight in a fight thanks to needing a piece of shit bow as a primary to get her costs down to acceptable levels instead of full retard ones.
