Evening guys, started with nomads in n2 and then went around the houses of the varying factions for a long time. Been keeping in touch with things but after my next ITS with JSA I'm returning to nomads with Tunguska.
There was a bit of deflated apathy and head scratching after the initial release of the faction and I was wondering how people are finding them now time has elapsed and their table time has increased.
    Anything that particularly works?
    Anything that particularly doesn't work?
Just assembling my way through the hollowmen which look badass and the kriza have performed well for me too.
Can't say I'm over impressed by securitate links but a repeater/white noise/Feuerbach def has its uses

I quite like securitate, what disappoints you about them?

The link is quite flexible being a powerful aggressive link with Persesus, Raoul, and repeater toting shotguns or specialists, or a powerful defensive link with again repeater coverage for up close and any defensive weapon you want, MSRs, Feurbachs, or MLs.

I believe TJC just placed first at Adepticon last week. I'm still hoping we can find more information about lists, matchups, etc.

TJC is okay, but god help you if DTW and smoke spam are a thing that exist in your meta.
The 2x feuerbach securitate defensive doom squad are great at blasting what ever pokes it's head into that particular fire lane or forcing your opponent to avoid an area of the table. Running triple Zondnautica is stupid amounts of fun and surprisingly effective, same goes for any Hollowmen Fireteam (sans the surprising part everyone knows they are good).

I would also like to see the Adepticon lists and the like. mostly I want to see if a case of crutching on a strong HI link like BJC (which would be both boring and disappointing) or something far more interesting.

In general TJC seems really strong in the active turn but the lack of infiltrators, warbands, and strong ARO troops means that it struggles to slow down your opponent in the reactive turn. Coupled with generally high troop costs and you can't even order spam your way out of that problem. So TJC trades typical Nomad strengths for the ability to shoot really well which feels weird.

One other weird thing about TJC; if I build a list while thinking about roles/strategies instead of focusing on my unit count, I almost always end up with 11 to 13 profiles. I've spoken to other players in my meta about this and they're having the same problem, which leads to a weird little dance where you're picking up more expensive profiles just to fill points or deleting pieces that were key to your plan to get more orders. Either way what you end up with isn't really what you had planned, though this will probably fade with more practice.

So that all sounds like I'm down on TJC but I've had a ton of fun with them, it's just very different from CJC or Vanilla. The strengths I've used:

Holy shit is the Hollowmen link good. Like really good. Like this is undeniable powercreep in the game good.

    Open in Infinity Army

Mission was Frontline. Main plan was to clear the roofs then push the link and Kriza forward. Kriza Lt because I almost always take the Interventor and expected my opponent to dive bomb it in an assassination attempt (that happened).

I deployed the 5HM link and Stemplar close to each other so if something truly died they could reform. Clockmaker's helper bot was close by for the inevitable. Clockmaker herself was on the other side of my deployment zone next to the Reaktion zond. First turn was largely spent using a supportware boosted Reaktion and poptarting HM ML to clear my opponent's AROs or anything else sticking it's nose out. The HM engaged an Anaconda and failed the FtF roll and all 3 ARM saves against a panzerfaust shot. Because it's remote presence it went into unconscious 2 and fell back behind cover, directly at the feet of the clockmaker's helper bot. This combo is way too good for it's price. It almost feels like smoke+MSV2 or Emily/Druze full link E/M spam levels of cheese.

Hacking: We lose infiltrating repeaters or AD deployable repeaters in exchange for a ton of pitchers. The famed Nomad repeater net is still possible, but you need to spend orders and be more deliberate in how you deploy it. Keep in mind Tsyklons have X-visor with pitchers, Mary Problems has ODD and a pitcher, and the Multi-rifle Hollowmen can superjump and shoot its pitcher. These pieces are fun to use in this way because you can deploy your web from weird locations and your opponent generally doesn't see a pitcher coming.

Securitate link is pretty flexible, I'm particularly fond of running the Grenzer FO+Sensor and Securitate shotgun repeater. This'll cover HI and camo spam threats, throw in Perseus for smoke and a top notch gunfighter and you've got a really strong aggressive link, but you're paying quite a bit for 1W models in an aggressive link... One other nice thing about Securitate: Veteran L1 means that when your Interventor Lt gets brain barbecued or your Kriza Lt kicks it you still have regular orders for link teams or other rambos.

I need to play more with the Hecklers and Zondnautica to really understand what they bring.

I can't quite put my finger on it tbh, every time I build a link I'm a bit meh about it. I don't think the specialist choice helps much but the guns they have are nifty. It just feels more like a perseus delivery vehicle than anything and they're not cheap for that

Really? I mean, they are a lot of fun to play, but in terms of powercreep - they are a step back (or maybe sideways, if your meta somehow has a lot of White Noise/Albedo) compared to Grrls.

Adepticon winners TJC lists (Stolen from White Noise Podcasts Facebook). Missions were apparently Power Pack, Decapitation, Supplies, and Firefight.

Thank you for the lists. Who played them, so we could ask him about his thoughts on the list?

Exaltaton is the ITS name. @exaltoton doesn't respond to the forum tagging though so might not have a profile on here

I have read that there will be an interview in the White Noise podcast though. Looking forward to hear his thoughts about the lists.

probably ping danger areas with the sensor bot to see if its clear of TO threats then deal with it appropriately.

He runs the first list and everyone except the link team is deployed only to defend the Interventor. At that point someone like that would rather go fight the fireteam...

*I* like playing them as a Persesus delivery system a lot. Persesus is an excellent fighter with better stats then most Myrmidons, and the breaker combi is a good weapon. 5 man link bonuses make him arguably the most powerful Myrmidon... I really like Steel so it's kinda fitting why I like using him and the securitate in that way.

It's not the only way to play them, I can see why they might feel expensive for a defensive link etc, IMO they get a lot for the cost. Veteran is IMO a very underrated ability. You can make your Kriza/interventor your LT and make good use out of his extra order and LoL is a lot less scary.

The hollowmen are also an excellent link, especially if you have a lot of vertical space.

I guess I should ask what links in other sectorials get you excited? I mean to an extent all links are similar, they're either a Rambo or a road block using their link bonuses, securitate are flexible and can fullfil each role, but on the pricier end of the light infantry spectrum.

Meh, what you’re describing just sounds like shotgun heaven for the Oniwaban/Speculo/Fiday

Yeah he's a solid piece, I can see that. Played phalanx a lot back in the day and see the appeal, but people in events seem more and more adept at pie slicing and spec firing. I've seen a lot of links pushed to the midfield just evaporate (and been on giving and receiving end of that treatment). I'd personally want a delivery system to be cheaper than securitate but it's a matter of working with what you're given and I'll def take the point on veteran, that's far more relevant now than it used to be.
I like keisotsu and kempei links and other equivalents like moblots and metros. Cheap with variety of guns and variety of specialists. I think that's what's killing my boner a bit, being stuck with paramedics feels a bit like I'm playing very expensive Scots lol
