In two different situations. First, if smoke is thrown on a rooftop near the edge, and the roof has a small edge wall. Does the smoke extend down to the ground? Second, does smoke extend through walls into buildings?

    Cheers

You have to be able to draw a LoF from the template centre to the model to be effected by the smoke

To expand on what sam2064 said, as a template weapon, Smoke Grenades still apply the normal blast focus rules so scenery will block the area of the smoke.

Also, the term "shadow zone" is a leftover from the parabolic fire rules in N2. It means nothing in N3.
