Took these guys out for a spin last night and had such a great game!

The Govads were awesome against YJ and took out Su Jian, rui shi, TR bot, nearly finished off Sun Tze and a ton of Kuang Shi! Double farzan came in useful for objectives (chain of command saved my second turn!) and the Al Djabeel got himself assassinated in his first order.

Govads kept his little Lycra clad ninja warrior away from the objective too - really looking forward to running these again.

I’m not a competitive player, more fun and usually get a game in each weekend. Will upload more pics cos we have a cool board ;)

That's a beautiful board and some lovely models to go with it! I'm glad that the Govads worked so well for you. They're some of the most gorgeous sculpts in the game, IMO.

I don't usually play HB, so I haven't had a chance to run them yet. But maybe I will soon, to give me an excuse to buy them and paint them up.

Yeah, nice Board @Edster , i'm glad you liked the Govads, they're awesome, just a shame that people sometimes forget it or don't even try it because of the Muyibs, all HB cores have differents jobs and excel in different situations.

Govads are very strong. They are tough for LI, they have good stats and are not that expensive for a relatively elite troop. MSV1 and a link bonus means they can effectively clear out against the vast majority of troops, and Veteran L1 means that you have very strong insurance against LoL.

Last few times I used them, they excelled. Even when coming across troops like Hac Taos, the linked HMG in good range let meant they took them out. Good times.

They're also great against link teams that rely on Blitzens for ARO, like Haramaki or Kaplans.

Or, more pressingly for my local meta, Riot Grrls and Xeodrones, but yes that's actually more useful than people typically think. There's quite a bit of E/M around these days!

The only problem with Govads is that they are in a sectorial with Muyibs and Farzans. :expressionless:

Farzans are further insurance against LoL, but also camo infiltrators with specialist, which means often I require them to get stuck in, do the job. Which means I'd rather than always rely on them to just keep me safe from my LT going down.

Muyibs are very good indeed, but they're differently good. Dogged is less useful than you think a lot of the time, and other than that they're BS 12 LI, much like Govads are, but with a different selection of weaponry. Personally, I'm a big fan of the Missile Launcher for the Govads, but also prefer the Spitfire to the HMG, so swings and roundabouts. But if you're dealing with troops that have Camo, ODD and so on then Govads are going to be more effective just because of that MSV1. Muyibs are more flexible but less capable in a straight up firefight I feel.

If I take a Muyib link, I might take a Govad Haris. If I take a Govad link, I might take an Asawira with Leila and a Muyib Doctor+. There's quite a few options there these days (which is nice, because the Bahram was always short on options. Weirdly enough they still have quite a low troop count compared to other Sectorals, but they don't feel like it, probably because all the bases are covered really nicely).
