I just double checked. They are subtly different. Interesting. The meaning seems similar though I wonder if its intentional.
I have ust checked the new rules in a Spanish VS English about the mates. Guess what? Differences. From Spanish: From English: So in the english version, Impersonation state is added, out of nothingness, with the "as a model". So if I use the Spanish rules, I can add a Symbiomate to a troop in camo state, TO state, and IMP state. If I use the English rules, I cannot add a Symbiomate to a troop in camo state, TO state, and IMP state. I'm quite tired of this, frankly. I don't care if the problem comes from CB sending different rules to the english translator, or the english translator is adding his own stuff to the rules. I care that the rules are different depending on the language, and that I cannot have any trust in that my opponent won't use the version least favorable to me, making the Tournament Organizer the sole responsible... which is not fair at all.
that looks like the spanish is using the older version similar to the SymbioBombs quote above. Is that right Xagroth? In which case it seems like the Spanish might be less up to date?
So CB are so dumb they release, at the same time, an english transalted V1.0, and a spanish v0.9? Occam's razor points to the english version not being correct. But of course we will hear nothing from it, since there has been so many discrepancies, and never resolved, before.
Is this a matter of personal opinion, or do you have information confirming that bombs will be changing?
I'm a bit confused. The wiki seems to read the same as it did yesterday, although there is a line that seems new saying that 'bombs obey the same general game conditions as 'mates. What's the takeaway here?
Even though the rules are at time of writing explicitly different? EDIT: on successive refreshes, the wiki has now been updated. Good and good. :)
Please show source. IJW is not official CB staff [EDIT: mentioned because in other threads, users based their conclusions in "IJW has said so", not because he has been claiming otherwise], but I can deal with a screenshot/quote from official CB staff (Koni, Helllois...). The Spanish version of the symbiomates is unchanged and in line with the PDF rules released yesterday.
I am sure it will be changed in due time, it happens the Spanish pdf was not as up to date as the English pdf this time, we will try to make sure such inconsistencies do not happen in the future.
As this thread has got bumped up again, please note that SymbioMates and SymbioBombs now have the updated model-not-marker wording on the wiki in both English and Spanish.
Funny they release a new profile for Shas that not only is an impersonator (superior, BTW), but has minelayer, enabling them to put mines in the enemy deploy, and that is fine, not OP at all. But symbiobombs (which no one used anyway) needed to be nerfed. To put a inferior impersonator/symbiobomb combo would require 2 models on the table, and at least 41 points. Bombs need a roll to use. But this was considered OP
With a WIP roll. I prefer to not roll and place the wolf at the doors, so to speak. So when the lady moves in for the kill, if I go first, whoever rolls discover or shoots her (if I move + attack) will eat a mine to the face XD
It's got nothing to do with nerfing SymbioBombs, it's making the Requirements the same for both types of Symbiomon.
