Tohaa Feelings

Glad to see some optimism starting to come through :)

 

I think that people tend to have an opinion without playing, or to say only by making lists on paper, once you play the lists and see how the units in the battle unfold, everything is very different

I just recommend playing, testing lists and adapting them to your style of play, with these new units there are many new things to exploit

 

I think it's relevant to say, also, that the Germans removed the stolen Allied gear before attacking, because that pesky stuff called conventions of war, spies, etc... xD

It also goes in line with the Greif opperators not being able to regain the IMP state, but I'd like for that detail to be put in the skill box, instead of outside of it.

 

Technically you are only allowed IMP L2 and IMP L2 does not have a reactivation clause so they cannot regain their IMP state, in contrast for example with a human impersonator against combined who would reactivate his IMP L1 that automatically drops to L2 because human impersonating aliens.

The detail outside of the skill box is to remind players that this is the case.

 

Slightly upset that this thread isn't about tohaa feelings (which I was about to point out they don't have), I should be getting in a game or two with spiral this evening however and I'm looking forward to it.

On the topic: I barely know Tohaa, but in Spiral Corps the new shiny toys look very, very intersting and offer a huge amount of funny options that are - as far as I know - had not been present in generic Tohaa. Re-garding the change of SymbioMate: the new mechanic is still pretty ace and esentially a 'Get out of jail for free!' card. For the record I have not yet played a faction (and I have played many) where I would not be very, very happy for a piece of equipment similar to SymbioMates...

Spiral is a bit meh for me. I am, however, really concerned about the future of vanilla Tohaa with all those cancelled SKU's.

 

That is a bit worrying, but hopefully it just means they're going to re-do/re-release them in some other format.

 

Like maybe against the Shasvastii in a two player box. :)

Does that mean that Fidays cannot reactivate their impersonation vs Tohaa?

 

I believe the reason that can happen is because the Fiday is allowed to try to go back to Imp-1 its just automatically downgraded to 2 essentially?

 

Pretty sure this is the case as well.

 

I feel like CB's Store has confirmed my worst fears. Tohaa isn't even an option anymore. Any Tohaa units that are still being sold are now listed as Spiral Corps.

There is still a chance that Tohaa might come back, but I am not feeling hopeful right now. At least this means I can stop spending money on Infinity once the last of the Spiral stuff comes out.

 

I think that it's purely because of the removed the non-Spiral SKUs, in that there are no non-Spiral Tohaa SKUs for sale at their store anymore.

Tohaa getting MRRF'd is way better than it being removed from Army as a playable faction altogether.

 

We should build another new Portal to bring new reinforcements, we have been isolated!

It doesn't help that the spiral box is not really intresting for vanilla Tohaa, half of the units in it will never see the table in Tohaa...
