I think Core Fireteams work slightly different from the rest in this regard since Fireteam: Core is not a part of anyone's profile.

Also not sure about Triads, but w/e.

Unless said hacker is in a fireteam with said remote. At this point you aren't exactly leveraging any sort of "repeater network", but at least you get firewall against non-KHDs.

Thankfully, most of Ramah's stuff doesn't exactly care about being bumped by hackers.

More on FTO and Wildcard since it potentially opens a lot. What about Fasid + Leila? Fasid gets special fireteam duo in which he can link with a Shaytinayah, but given Leila can count as anything, would Fasid + Leila work? Same applies for Azra'il in QK.

It works as in it is legal, but I don't know about its viability...

EDIT: Then again no Duo skill on the Al'Fassid means this isn't legal.

Fasid doesn't have Duo skill though. You need something with that skill to form a Duo. So Shaytaniyah (ML; FT: Duo) + Wildcard will work, but I don't think Fasid + Wildcard will.

This is unlike Maggie example above, since both Rafiq and Maggie have profiles with Duo skill (which BTW allow you to run literal Maggie Duo or Rafiq Duo), but this is not true for Shaytaniya Special Duo with Fasid.

By the way, Rafiq FTO can Duo with any Maggie profile, not just those which have Duo themselves.

Or at least that's how I think this entire thing works...

@Barrogh - So you think the Fireteam Duo is tied to the Shaytinayah instead of the Fasid, so Fasid doesn't have it reciprocally? I suppose. As @Xeurian says, its not attractive but I was puzzling options. But this means Shaytinanah FTO + Leila is valid since that bot *does* it explicitly. A killer hacker dragging around a missile bot is interesting, but better than keeping a pet Rafiq with her? I don't know.

Anyway, here's my initial stab at something fun - defensive Ghulam link to hold it down with missile and fire, Mukhtar haris for assault and grabbing objectives, Rafiq+Leila duo do the same but with hacking focus, and Tuareg and Nahab standing by in group two to get those hard-to-reach places. I am torn on the Nahab though - shotgun and d-charges versus SMG, e/mitter, and KHD. Surprise Shot from Cybermask with SMG can be very nasty but so is a template with d-charges for classifieds.

@vorthain Apologies, I had forgotten that the Al'Fasid does not have the Duo skill, and cannot form the basis of any fire team as a result. @Barrogh has the right of it.

List building Ramah is very interesting. We have...

Solo pieces that mix glass cannon and somewhat harder glass cannon (Tariq falls on the tougher end of the spectrum).

Very interesting mixed links that will take some time to digest in terms of what combinations actually work.

Interactions that are initially hard to understand: Tarik + NCO Ghulam LGL/Smoke gives you 2 spec fired smoke in a faction with access to nice MSV2, for example.

Units that are EXTREMELY versatile: Nahab is a great example. Airborne Infiltration / Infiltration has serious implications for turn order. If you go first, infiltrate that puppy onto the table and wreck people with your natural borne viral CCW. If you go second, hold it off the table for Airborne Infiltration then exploit the gaps.

Ramah is extremely unique. We have our weaknesses and I'm just now digesting them. List building will be akin to constructing a fine bastilla...you go heavy on the spices, but must be extremely careful with the structure or it will fall apart.

I like the Namurr render but the Zhayedan models seem to be missing something. I do like the Zhayedan boarding shotgun: It looks like she is leaning around a corner to end someone.

Boarding shotgun is the only one that speaks to you (and me) because they're the only one that looks like they're not waiting for a bus.

    That Namurr is lovely!

The Zhayedan, as before, are meh. The shotgun / HMG / breaker rifle may see service as Mukhtar. And I do like the sniper, although I don't know for what it will proxy.

I mean, their minis would at least make cool elite-looking proxies for Ghulams :P

Well, but some of us have enough Ghilim not to need a proxy :P

I'd say Zhayedan are roughly in the same place Govads were in Bahram pre-Daedalus' Fall (they seem a bit better at the moment), save for the grace of being the only MSV in their respective sectorial.
My prediction is CB will see the problem and deal with it in a next update. Perhaps by allowing some interesting troop to be in a Fireteam of Zhayedan (Namurr or Muktar come to my mind there).

Zhayedan look much cooler, though :D
Meh, I'd still pick a Haris of them every now and then.. And I agree that some extra fireteam options would fix them,. I mean, such change made Khawarijs much more appealing for me, to the point at which I can't resist taking 1-2 of them for my core.

I'm afraid Govads had it better. At least they were a bit cheaper, and actually offered significantly better shooting against visual mods while in a core (compared to the rest of old HB), even if you needed to pay premium for that (by HB standards) - although that alone was questionable unless you knew what you were going against.

Meanwhile, RTF doesn't lack pieces that can bruteforce things. Zhayedans' field of expertise ends up being stupidly narrow and involves you doing things the hard way on purpose.

I like their minis though. Yeah, I see that they use a lot of recycled assets, but their take on those poses and theme is more preferable to me because I like those outfits and helmets busy with details.

I wish the Zhayedans were a little more loved. Even if they just gave Marksmanship L2 to all of their profiles, it would go a long way in making them a unique choice.

Right now I dig the Sniper+Haris+Leila option. Sniper has about the same odds of causing a wound as the HMG.
