So with the new campaign spec ops rules we have some interesting interactions with dual wielding ccws. What happens if you dual wield EXP and Monofilament CCWs for example? Three saves at DAM12 that instant kill? Four saves, three at PH and one at 12 that instant kills? Three saves at PH that instant kill?
Can Spec-Ops now take the dual wield skill? Not showing on Army but it doesn't look like that has updated
indeed, you need Dual Wield to be allowed to combine multiple CCWs. So spec-op can grab several but will need to specify which one they use every order (just like someone with a MULTI riffle). Sometime Mono will be better sometime Exp will be better.
Well if it's EXP/AP you take 3 at half ARM so it would follow Mono/EXP would be 3 at 12 and instagib Nice
But how do you determine which damage value takes precedence? You combine both ammo types and they both have differing damage value
Monofilament has a fixed damage of 12 that can never be modified. Bear in mind there's an FAQ coming before the book's official release so there might be something there.
I'm missing a pdf. Neither of the base trooper in the profile pdf has an innate Dual Wield on the zanshi and celestial guard Infinity Spec-Op. And the rule pdf talks about it but without any further adjustment. Now, i'm not saying it isn't possible to select Dual Wield as 1 of your 3 skills... it is not in army yet. How many XP do they charge ?
EXP does not have a damage value, the rule only specifies "3 arm rolls per impact suffered" Monofilament specifies "fixed damage value of 12" ergo, 3 rolls at 12
And they will all be Anti-material and a single failed ARM will instantly cause the door/AC2 to be removed or a hole in the wall to open, no?
i agree on that. it combine effects of the special ammo, and Dam=PH is not an effect of the EXP ammo type, but of the CCWeapon.
What i always dreamed of, was DA+EXP. but i guess it won't actually cause 6 saves. If DA was 1 extra and EXP 2 extra saves, that would combine into 3 extra saves (for a combined total of 4 saves only). But really, we are combining "make 2 saves" with "make 3 saves" which could be contradictory.... although you could read it as 2 lines and thus make 5 saves in two salvo (roll 2 and roll 3).
They might not have released the new Spec Ops system yet, but they have disabled Celestial Guard spec ops in IA and Zhanshi spec ops in ISS.
That fits with the updated profiles PDF, Spec-Ops are now a loadout for certain troop types rather than something distinct
