Kiel saan isnt really worth her points and cant have mates, neema already has bts 9 so the mate doesnt make a difference on her, makauls cant have mates. I was trying to get at: of the units that could have mates, sukeuls are less affected by mates not protecting against hacking/comms, and therefore are more viable in relation to those units. Im sorry i wasnt clearer. Of the new guys, yeah, draal are great i love dazers, the new impersonator cant have a mate if you deploy it in impersonation state
Im also alittle confused. We were specifically talking about units that could wander past jammers. Mates have little to do with it do they?
I think the point was that they no longer block hacking and Comms attacks, so they can't take jammer saves.
Oh I see I misread the second post there. I still think the Keil-Sann, Draal, and Neema can make use of a mate and are also able to bypass Jammers with relative ease. And Most Triads bring a Jammer avoidable unit to push into Jammers with. These are valid considerations when playing against Jammers.
Question to fellow Tohaa Players: Are you happy with what we got overall? I see it as we lost SymbioMates in return for the Draal and Grief Operator. I don't find that to be a good trade at the moment but I'd like to hear what others think.
Overall its a downgrade in terms of power. And the model release is 70 quid for maybe 3 models that are of questionable us in vanilla imo. I was pretty excited at announcement despite the cancellation of sku's but given the profiles I'm considering cancelling my pre-order.
We didn't lose a thing. Symbiomates are here and Total is VERY powerful. They aren't stupid OP "you can't interact with me" anymore, but they are very nice still to have and actually redeem some units like taking away fear of fire from Gorgos.
It'll be more clear for me once I can get some table time with them but currently I'm a little Luke warm. We did get some cool stuff no doubt but a lot of it has been restricted, and other stuff (long arms, reex) just don't make much sense to me at all. Looking from a jealousy point of view the Taiga would have been very cool, I feel like we really lack cool alien sort of stuff like that I'm Tohaa, but maybe I'm just miss interpereting what Tohaa is about. Also the Nahabs are very cool. With the now existence of sheskiin and to a slightly lesser extent Tarik with the ability to roll over most defenses in the game on active it's weird that it feels like Spiral got these weird limitations here and there, I mean like the Kieel-san is the same price bracket as those units, does not stand up to them at all imo, and still cantc properly run around in triads freely.
i think that the kriigel is also great. using mirrorball on where you want to kill stuff with a sukeul makes him so good against so many relevant aro pieces.
i do think mates needed a nerf, and have for a while. the lack of rolling was just too much. the nerf might have been too much, but whatever. tohaa was good before them. we have a few new guys that are neat. it is nice that there is actually a choice between bombs and mates now. if only the bomb profile had CoC.
I doubt I will ever take Kaeltars now. Bombs are still way too gimicky for my taste, they really should have buffed them in some way (no WIP Roll on restoring Symbiont Armor anyone?) and Mates are not worth what you pay for. CoC is fine but honestly I rate the Rasail lower with the Mate change so I'll just use a Line Trooper Lt. like every other army. I don't know how many people have played with the Mate change already but I didn't appreciate how bad it was until I tried it. They have so many easy to play around holes that I really don't want to take any under any circumstances. *shrug*
They are different today... Might be a change coming, but right now RAW is that we could use a bomb on the impersonator
