Daktari in a Jag link. Dak or Lupe as a 6th person in a Wildcat link. Jag Core + Jag Haris. Tsyklon Feurbach + Lupe + 3 Algs + Valerya. MB HMG in a core for dealing with SSL2 Shock ARO. Because for everything else there's Intruders. But honestly: I probably won't play CJC for a while. The changes aren't particularly interesting. * Specialist in a Jag link is just power creepy: and isnt game changing as CJC didn't have issues delivering specialists to objectives. * As above CJC still has serious issues dealing with strong SSL2 AROs (particularly if they involve MSV2). * Tsyklon in core is solid defensively, but aggressively is going to be unwieldy. And while it's an improvement on an Alg ML it's not a particularly different play or list style (although an Alg + REMs + soloists list is more viable) * Alg linkable MB is a band-aid. And largely made redundant by the Tsyklon change. * Wildcat lists are still hard mode for list-building due SWC issues. Wildcard does add some options by opening up LT deployment options. But seriously, why no SWC change on the Haris or HRL? Wildcats should be CJC's signature link. * MB still only have 4 worthwhile profiles: BSG LT, MR+LFT LT, HMG, ML. Combis are shit on 40pt non-specialists. And a 43pt HD is shit in a world where KHDs (and Maestro) are so prevalent. Where's our updated Hacker (I'll take SMG+Emitter, Tinbot B HD for ~2pts cheaper please) or updated Tinbot profile (even Orcs get Tinbots on a useful profile: Tinbot B MR+LFT LT would have been awesome, and I wouldn't even have cared if it was an obvious Lt). And the LT profiles are only useful because Alg Lts cost 1SWC, and 2 Wildcat Lts cost almost the same amount as a MB LT + WarCor. CJC got the update NCA got as part of 3O NOT the equivalent update to Daedalus.
I am registered in a league as CJC so I'll keep using them on this, but I am starting to transition to Vanilla.
McDoggo is worth a new go with new Total Immunity and berserk I think. Still better in CHA tho. I might play CJC occaisionally for variety but not amazingly excited. Fuerback Tsyklon 5 linked with MML2 and clockmaker isnt a bad option vs SSL2 shock AROs I think @inane.imp and doubles up as a nice ARO ofc
While Wildcat HRL adjustment not happening is a slight disappointment, you can just use Lupe for the long range ARO instead. I still like Wildcats and I'm happy they got a bit of a boost, even though I've not played them in ITS X at all (though I hardly played in ITS X anyway; maybe once so far).
B3 BS18 vs B2 BS15 is just on the line of a good choice. So yeah, it's an option and probably means I'll continue to avoid the MB in that link. Re: Lupe in a Wildcat link as the ARO. Yeah, she works very differently to a Wildcat HRL. The HRL you can use to really own a firelane against anything that isn't a top tier firefighter. Lupe will only provide a speed bump to the same thing (once she spends her Panzerfausts she needs to smoke). I think she will augment the HRL well, but doesn't compete. Honestly, if Tsyklons had gone in Wildcats and MB in Algs I'd be singing a different tune: Tsyklon Feurbach is precisely what's needed to make a Wildcat defensive link + Alg Lt viable from an SWC POV (it ideally places the compromise between points cost of the Tsyklon vs SWC cost of the HRL) and Tsyklon Spitfire + Haris + 3rd Wildcat would be a seriously great offensive Haris (MML2 B5 Spitfire that drags its own Engineer along, that screams Nomads!). This would be so fun to play as the core of a list: Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 8 1 TSYKLON Spitfire, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 31) WILDCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 23) WILDCAT (Fireteam: Haris) Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 20) ALGUACIL (Forward Observer, Deployable Repeater) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 12) ALGUACIL Hacker (Hacking Device) Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 18) DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) MOBILE BRIGADA Missile Launcher / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 40) MOBILE BRIGADA Lieutenant Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 33) BANDIT Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 25) 4 SWC | 216 Points Open in Infinity Army But instead we're left with an overcosted Haris I've never seen anyone seriously advocate the use of. Literally the first list I'm going to run in the FC will be based around a Bolt Haris using Wildcat miniatures; because, face it, PanO gets the best linkable MI. .
Relax you shouldn't get disappointed because our wild speculations didn't come true. They were playable before and only got better. The fact that the specialist linking with Jags isn't a big deal is why it isn't a big power creep. It wouldn't have been worth the text to lock them out of Jags. The biggest problem isn't that Correg has problems dealing with reactive links it's that reactive links dominate gameplay right now, especially with MSV2 which used to be rare. Getting a core to used the Feuerbach profile more is good because the Spitfire was the main profile. Now it has two profiles for different roles. MB have an ok role as linking troops now. Before they had nothing. I appreciate getting another CJC unit useable in just a patch update. We'll find out just how useful they are. It would have been nice to have Wildcats touched up more than getting a linkable doctor and smoke and getting FD1 and starting to have objectives only they can take. But It's something and a lot of it is unique. MB don't have a lot of good profiles because they weren't designed with their current role in mind but again I'm glad they have some profiles becoming useful.
CJC has a lot of template weapons. Out of all the Nomad Sectorials, I have the least issue busting links with CJC. The biggest thing about this update was making MB flexible, and it reduces the points needed to make the old MB pain train link, since you can just use Alguaciles. The new Wildcards are also nice because of the flexibility they offer.
Lupe and Daktari in a pain train is a nice way to push MB down in cost. I really feel like the HD should have the tinbot and the other combi should be a KHD to be even near modern standards now though. Seperating the two pieces of a good profile on two 40pt models and giving them combis is old school CB design. Like it or not, there is power creep from that at this point. Yeah the ammo type, and the backup of ARM6, double unconscious and re-rollable repairs on 15s helps push it a bit beyond that line of viable choice vs linked AROs too I think. Given the X-Visor softening the limited range bands and the burst subbing for better target numbers (and smoke maybe getting into better ones), the Spitfire might be OK for that job too, depending. Doesn't do double duty in the reactive as well though. I like that the 'bach really has a role now. That was a good call. Hope fully they will go further at some point and "Bolt-ise" Wildcats.
When playing CJC? I just loathe that rule's existence in it's current state regardless of what i'm playing especially in vanilla. Cant smoke shoot, can't surprise shot, spec fire is less effective, mines are less effective and they don't care about out of LOF attacks. This problem is exacerbated by the increase in the 1w+nwi bs13 MI pretending to be HI that cant be hacked or pack enough hacking hate to make attempting it pointless units and the new obnoxious fireteam compositions.
In regard to tsyklons in aggie teams, i like the twin FB profile, then stashing a clockmaker nearby and maybe a baggage bot if i want to spam repeaters.
Apologies That was a mistake, I forgot that that the -3 from dodging a deployable weapon is one of the few things SSL2 doesn't ignore.
So the McDoggo update (Total Immunity is now total, Berserk and apparently non extreme impetuous for 1pt) is insanely good for CJC... maybe even better for Dashat. But still.
The brigada pain train is one of my favourite list concepts so what do you think of this? I think starco still do it better. Massacre is more useful than Lupe as link filler/smoke tosser. The intruder, morans and tomcats are great pieces but when you're already spending a chunk of points on brigada, the points efficiency of irmadinos, hard cases or brawler snipers adds up. This list may have too many attack pieces, it could help to swap the bandit for an alguacile hacker plus baggage bot for marksmanship and an extra order. Also is the tsyklon better than a missile brigada? Normally if I go second, the missile is sacrificed for ARO and the 2 wounds plus doctor provide options that the remote doesn't have. Jurisdictional Command of Corregidor ────────────────────────────────────────────────── GROUP 1 9 1 MOBILE BRIGADA Lieutenant Boarding Shotgun / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 33) MOBILE BRIGADA HMG / Pistol, Knife. (2 | 42) TSYKLON Feuerbach, Pitcher / Electric Pulse. (1 | 34) LUPE BALBOA Combi Rifle, Nanopulser, Panzerfaust, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (0 | 23) DAKTARI Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 14) JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10) JAGUAR Chain Rifle, Smoke Grenades / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 10) BANDIT Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Light Shotgun, Adhesive Launcher / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 25) INTRUDER HMG, Grenades / Pistol, CCW. (1.5 | 42) MORAN (Forward Observer) Combi Rifle, CrazyKoalas (2) / Pistol, Knife. (0.5 | 22) GROUP 2 3 TOMCAT Engineer Combi Rifle + Light Flamethrower, D-Charges / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 22) TRANSDUCTOR ZOND Flash Pulse, Sniffer / Electric Pulse. (0 | 8) JAGUAR Adhesive Launcher, Panzerfaust / Pistol, DA CCW. (0.5 | 13) 5.5 SWC | 298 Points Open in Infinity Army
I can't shake the feeling that with most of the sectorials updated to the mixed-fireteam-standard and the third and final book of the recent trilogy released we finished some kind of phase 1 (sry for the mcu reference) and might be looking at a humans-sphere-level rules shakeup and profile rework soon-ish. The sectorial updates that didn't go hand in hand with actual releases were mostly band aids to allow access to mixed fireteams. Profile adjustments in those cases were few and far between and reserved for especially problematic cases. It definitely helps close the gaps but in the long run there is a LOT of detail work to be done. tldr: I think the recent CJC changes are just meant to help us out until the next HS drops.
If you want to play the most shiny and unique faction Corregidor hasn't been the right choice since fire ammo was rare. We're a faction of grit.
