Hi all. Looking for some advice for that infantry I should get/best infantry for the MO sub faction? I know it's kinda a general question but I'm new to this game :-)
I've written an article on this in the past which you may find useful: http://heartofthehyperpower.blogspot.com/2018/09/starting-with-hyperpower-guide-to.html But for starting MO right now there is no better way to get in than by buying the 300pt box: You will probably want more Order Sergeants, so you might want another box of those: And the original Military Orders starter is still super useful: Other than those I'd highly recommend the PanOceanian Support Pack for the Machinist, Trauma Doc and their PalBots: And you certainly want to pick up at least one DroneBots box: And a box of the Mule Bots: You'll also probably want to add some Knights of Santiago: And a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre: And you'll probably have MORE than you'll ever need!
Wow thank you so much for the fast response. I will definitely be reading your article later tonight!
I think The Admiral here has it pretty much covered, though might I suggest you also look into "Dart, Optimate Huntress". She's very valuable on the battlefield in MO as well as Shock Army, another PanO sectorial.
They come in that 300 point box! Theyre kind of like your bread and butter Heavy Infantry in MO. Generally players use them in a full link or a haris. They're one of 3 HMG sources and pretty important
Also note, that Santiago box is partially unusable - MO were completely reworked a few months ago, and for some reason they've lost Boarding Shotgun. But the rest is fully usable, and very important as well. I'm in the process of reworking mine into Magisters - which are also useful, if you want a cheaper HI fireteam.
Ok then smartass @Ayuruk start at the top and work your way down the list. Consider the Military Orders Starter "optional" (many people will prefer to avoid it) but otherwise proceed 'till your budget gives out.
Assuming you mean the OLD starter being optional, I think you actually meant to say, "Start at the top, proceed till your budget gives out, paint what you bought until you get more budget, and repeat!"
Well just a side note: MO hardest of PanO sectorials so, yea keep it in mind :) But yes I would start with 300 pts box, and some Santiago box.
Yeah, it is odd how that Boarding Shotgun Santiago is not usable in a strict sense, since there is no Santiago BSG anymore... And the only other HI with BSGs are Hospitallers, Father Knights and Montesas. Maybe there's the chance to convert it into a Father Knight, I suppose...? He'd make a cool HVT too, I suppose! Though then again, you'll only ever AT MOST use three Santiagos, since you are hard capped at a limit of three of them, and the remaining models fit the still existing profiles. P.S.: Bit off topic here, but I just had a closer look at that PanO Combi Rifle that the Santiago has... are PanO Combis miniaturised rotary guns...?!
I mean it doesn't look that good but at the same time it IS a miniaturized rotary gun and I am a firm believer in the concept of ''Aim is irrelevant, you just need to shoot more bullets.'' Full Auto Lv1 on all PanO Combis now pls.
Yeah, PanOceania (and also Yu Jing I believe) used to have mini rotary weapons. Cool concept! And I think that one model for conversion fodder out of a box isn't the worst thing in the world, until they produce new Santiagos anyway! Further reinforcing that I didn't include EVERYTHING on my list, I just remembered what the "one thing I am forgetting" that was bugging me was. Magister Knights! Personally I'd be looking at using that old Santiago Boarding Shotgun here to replace the dumbtube Panzerfaust (the arms should fit fairly well) giving you three "standard" Magisters to run with Joan solo (for Coordinating) or filling out Fireteams.
This picture is so sad. So many missed opportunities ... (and who the heck makes HyperDynamics model so static ?o0)
When it comes to Magisters I strongly recommend using the Combi/BSG Santiagos. They're very dynamic, need onlya slight helmet conversion, converting the Combi, their BSG is so tiny it can easily work as an LSG, and Spitfire and sword ones cover pretty much our whole Santiago needs.
