Yes, but if other guy has to win F2F against both Aquila AND mine to effectively engage Aquila then it's a good setup.
Yeah this. Problem with Engage is usually that it's on PH which means a roll in the 12-16s can be a success depending on what you're looking at. Your BS Attack can be beaten not just by a crit but a mere highroll, especially if we're looking at stuff like ODD Achilles or Shinobu who can be hard to hit. The -3 from the E/Mauler or Drop Bear pulls Engage its teeth - and more importantly also "negates" the crit chance completely. A PH14 Engage rolling a 14 is a critical success and cancels the BS Attack, but fails against the Mine, eats the hit and doesn't get to Move. A PH14 Engage rolling a 11 is just a normal success against the BS Attack, something you hope to beat (especially with a B4 Aquila MR) even though it will avoid the Mine. In conclusion Mine + BS Attack is reliable vs CC troops, no matter how good they are.
Even a successful Engage vs an NCA trooper isn't bad either, due to Triangulated Fire. Just back your Warband-hunting troops up with a Pathfinder, and any trooper that Engages will simply be suffering unopposed shots until they're removed from play. At LVO 2017, I had two different games where I saved my Swiss Guard from both Antipode and Monofilament Engage AROs by using Triangulated Fire into combat.
This is a good point. It's worth thinking somewhat about the changes we know, but we don't know what we don't know... yet.
12:00 CET Yeah. Like I've said getting more buffs isn't likely - I don't like getting my hopes up on this stuff - but there could be something that would throw our theories off. NCO somewhere, better Aquila... but that's exactly the kind of hopes I prefer not to have. For now I'm content with the knowledge that both main NCA fireteams will get a solid boost, and midfield defense will be more robust as well. You know which units like having a solid defense line to help keep it alive? TAGs. With some Drop Bears and Bolt defenders Uhlan and Squalo can be supported better. I'd only wish for BF Wildcard status carry on to MO.
Oh neat, it's literately right after my exam tomorrow. Yay, that's sure to help drop the stress back down alongside a litre or two of Coke.
Heh. Unrelated to NCA, but I have a last battle using the old SEF tomorrow in the afternoon. Trying to make a decent list for Deadly Dance is pain in the Seed-Embryo :P I'm pretty sure that it'll be much easier after the change.
For me, here in New Zealand, that's midnight. It's always hard deciding how much I hate myself and want my work day to suffer, thus if I will stay up to see it or wait 'till morning. They DO make for nice viewing on the train in to work 'though.
I'm considering calling in tomorrow so I can play on Army and the forums all day. My wife would probably put me to work at home though
Let's just say that many of my classes tomorrow will be doing "independent student-led learning" and leave it at that
/Mines, mines, everywhere there's mines/ /Blocking out the scenery, breaking my mind/ /Go here, don't go there, can't you see the miiiines?!?/ Actually, based on previous examples, it almost certainly did NOT cover all the changes. Sounds like an answer to me, as long as you don't need to load stuff onto the laptop/tablet before the trip!
I was actually thinking about train not having connectivity as opposed to stupidly-expensive mobile data, but that could also be a concern for some people.
Funnily enough we actually have free wi-fi at all our train stations, and the rail lines were used for initial establishment of the cell networks, so coverage of those is perfect all the way. Makes my commute very good from a data access perspective.
Coverage was only good aboveground or at stations on the Tokyo metro, which is why I thought of it. I don't currently live in a place where there is anything resembling a functional mass-transit system!
