So with the sudden unannounced HB update, it gave me some hope that maybe Bakunin could get similar treatment like so many others soon. I feel like they are one of a few sectorials left out in the cold from modern fireteam options, and one that could really use them. Is there any chance of that @Koni ? Pretty pleeeeeeeaaaase? My personal wishlist would be: Reverends of any type (Moiras, Custodiers, Healers) may join Fireteams of any other Reverends. Kusanagi Wildcard. Taskmasters may join Moderator Fireteams. Daktari may join Moderator Fireteams. Lunokhods may join Moderator Fireteams Prowlers re-costed / reworked slightly to see more time on the table (point drop, maybe some more efficient kit like SMG / Emaulers / KHD profile) Any other thoughts?
i frankly think some bakunin units rework. prowlers for instance. but more than that we r in dire need of new minis. still no new riotgirl spitfire , old prowlers, old zeroes, old kusanagi , lizard and please custodiers. taskmaster in moderator link ?... if it happens it can be too much. also this avicenna. looks almost no place in bakunin. but that fast unit doesnt seem a good option in reverend links. However if she could make a link with moderators.. hmm could be nice. i think that bakunin needs a touch. but not too much.
I'll happily trade TM + Moderator Core AND the Riot Grrl Haris for a TM + 2 Morlock Haris. Even if it broke as soon as you spent their Irregulars. TM in a Moderator Core is obvious though. There's a bunch of great options for how to build it. I don't want a Kusanagi Wildcard: Grrls have cooties and I don't want Kusanagi to catch them. For Wildcard I'd go with up to one Lunokhod wildcard not Kusanagi. 25 pt HSG + LFT with Koalas is ideal link filler for Bakunin either Moiras, Mods or Grrls. Daktari in Moderator Core is good, but Clockmaker would be better and distinguish from CJV. Also, give us a LSG, ADHL Clockmaker so we can make use of that sweet AVA 2 and BS11 in the Mod link. TM HRL + Lunokhod + Clockmaker + 2 Mods is a really cool very "Praxis has dunn goofed" link. Great attacking options, specialists and solid defensively. KHD Prowler would be awesome, but a band aid. Honestly shave off a couple of points and 0.5 SWC off the Spitfire and they'd probably start to be useful.
You, sir, are a gentleman. I like all of these ideas. There are two points I want to add, though: Irregular models tend to go regular when they enter a fireteam, either by convoluted rules or by having an FTO regular version. So a TM+Morlock haris wouldn't break that easily. I also like the idea of Reverends (Moiras, Custodier, Healers) all being able to mix and match each other in both core and haris links. This would make full Observance lists slightly more viable and would also increase list building options a lot. However, Bakunin is in a good spot at the moment, even if the sectorial lacks some of the newer, fancier tools. So I wouldn't expect a Bakunin change anytime soon.
Nah, I mean actually using the "If the trooper is Irregular and uses its Irregular Order" rule. It'd be interesting and unique. I've been saying we need "Observance" links for ages. It's just obvious.
How about Zoe and Pi-Well get wildcard. They aren't tied into a specific aspect of Bakunin like Grrls or Observancy units are.
I don't think Koalas work in a link. Linked Tsyklons would be great, both here and in Tunguska. Other setorials already showed that it is possible to have them, and Tsyklons are a bit on the expensive side already, so yeah, they might come back down to a very good price point if they are linkable. I don't like a Kusanagi Wildcard. But I do think the nuns should all be linkable together, no matter what kind of reverends they are. Kusanagi wildcard is really out of place in a Girrl link. I would not be opposed to a Taskmaster wildcard, but then it would be the only S5 that is coreable ( from the top of my head - correct me if I am wrong). And again, will need to be a profile without Koalas. A couple of units do need reworks - Prowlers are the most obvious one, but Lizards would also benefit from being given a bit more personality, as do Bran de Castro. Reverend Healers could also finally get their ODD... Also - the Moderator fireteam could *really* use a decent pointman.
Tai Sheng has perimeter weapons and can join links. It's not that big of a deal, it will just look like your core link has 7 models :D
Seems fine. Maybe adjust the wording of the current special fireteams to outright have Healers count-as other reverends rather than 1 per FT? Eh, maybe not, wildcard's a bit too broad in some ways. Just counts as a reverend Moria/Custo I'd prefer Special Haris for them rather than adding to Moderator teams, seems a bit much to give them access to a core myself. Only seems fair given they can do it in CJC Maybe tied to the Special Haris option, 2 Task (one of which is a Boarding Shotgun FTO?) 1 Lunokhod? Agreed, seems like an SMG Prowler would go quite some distance to making them more popular. I think pointwise they're okay and balanced as they stand though, and your Prowler SMG would be about 25-26 points, especially if he has an E/Mauler or E/Mitter too. The problem of lowering the cost of Prowlers is they start competing directly with Zeroes rather than complementing them. Moderator Boarding Shotgun, possibly with MSV1 Bran do Castro or Sin-Nibbler Submachine Gun Maybe give them Duo, counts-as Moderators, or a Special Haris with another Remote? Overall, I kinda think Wildcard is a bit too broad a rule in Bakunin. It'll almost always have them whacked into a Riot Grrl team, which is already accused of being OP thanks to their Frenzy rebate, or have cheap Moderators tossed together to boost a Rambo unit.
Bakunin may not need emergency changes, but receiveng the new flexibility on fireteams would be cool for the players, it's always nice to mix and match with wildcards and test new fireteams, so i think Bakunun deserves the fun too! As the changes, i'm not by any means a Bakunin expert, but some ideas: Reverends of any type joining the same fireteam is nice. A simpler way of doing this is making Custodiers the wildcard and not changing the Moiras and Healers composition present now. Maybe Riot and Custodiers in the same link can be a bit anti-fluff...But with a bit of imagination we can create a reason for that :) Taskmaster could gain a Haris like Kriza Boracs. What about 2 Taskmasters and...and... i don't know, hard to put someone with Taskmaster, because of Taskmaster fluff, maybe a REM but the repeaters are not ideal to link with the HI. Maybe Sin-eater? +1B to ARO Sin-eater? too much?? really like Zoe and pi-well as wildcard idea too.great one. About reesculpts, i would like Cassandra and Bran to get one. Prowlers need to eat some vitamins and grow a little. Custodiers are one of the coolest designs in the game so more miniatures woudn't hurt.
I think Observance getting their own link would work. I think having a new Observance unit in the 20 point range with mimetism to link would seal the deal thou.
I'd love to have a "not flying" kusanagi model... Maybe a double pack (like musashi) or blister with two sets of hands. Or maybe, since they love mixed boxes so much nowadays they'll make moiras/custoders+kusanagi box (+1 Moira from starter). I think she needs a wildcardtoo and not just join any reverend fireteam. Although if they make a special mixed observance link that could be just perfect for her.
Remake the Custodiers and Kusanagi at the same time. Shotgun, Pitcher, Plain Combi-Rifle, Kusanagi with either neutral pose or alt weapons. Or, Shotgun, Combi-rifle+Pitcher, and a third Rev Healer with Multi-Rifle (maybe her hood down too to be special?). Or just throw the existing BS Healer in there. Gets rid of three to four blisters for one box.
I like a lot of the ideas. Not allowing girls / observance mixes is a good point. I feel like Reverends and Moderators are a bit underwheming right now tho. Taskmasters + Moderators (or Morlocks!) Is fluffy even if just a haris. Core with moderators seems fine to me considering what some others sectorials can do (like Crane + Celestials or Orcs plus whatever). Other sectorials also get links with perimeter weapons - eg ISS with madtraps. Even just Custodiers can join Moira links would be a great and seemingly suitable tweak. Zoe + Pie Well Duo is a great idea too. The main things that could use profile tweaks to me are Prowlers and Moderators (Stun pistols? Zapper profile? Chain Colts). Mainly we could use a Dire Foe tho. Reverends in general seem a touch expensive, so possibly an adjustment there too. A better upgrade Program for Zoe than STOP! would really help! And of course a bunch of new sculpts...
AVA 4 zeros, ODD on the rev healer and MA1 so we can make some use of that cc19 and exp ccw, rework the moiras so they don't cost the same as grrls and Shock immunity. A chimera without pupniks that is regular with impersonation l2 (l1? which ever is the worse of the two), and a minelayer profile and some actual typed specialist profiles for the prowlers(KHD, AHD, Engi?). As for fireteams, TM in a mod team, stemplers in a mod team, a more flexible observance team. not really much that can be done in that regard that makes sense. New things; some form of AD, an elite light/med infantry fireteam trooper entry that fills the space between mods and moiras.
Other than the meteor you mean :) A police AD would be sweet. Design wise I would accidently make the Tomcats again but they could be sure not to step on toes. It would give me a reason to play Vanilla over Correg. They could make an extremely impetuous AD with the same angle as morlocks/grrls I really like how that works in-game. My OC Correg hero is an extremely impetuous AD.
