This is like a reward for Haqqislam being so nice in the forums.

    summary of changes

    1) new Lasiq profiles (Haris option, +2 points for FAT1 options on Viral Rifle and Sniper)
    2) Up to 2 Asawiras can be part of a Muyib or Govad Core
    3) Avicenna can be part of a Govad Core
    4) Wildcard: Yasbir (non infil)
    5) Wildcard: Leila

Not bad! 2 wild cards, a nice buff for Lasiqs (Lose Core, get Haris and profiles with Fatality lv1 for 2 pts) and Asawiras in a Muyib or Govad fireteam seems nice!

I like these changes. A Lasiq Haris looks like fun and you can bring Leilah along if you need a specialist. Or just use it as a defensive Haris with a Fat 1 sniper.
Govads are suddenly looking better as well. Avicenna/Doctor Asawira makes up for the lack of Govad doctor profiles and once again, you can bring Leilah along for a 0SWC KHD. For fun shenanigans you can bring an Asawira and Yasbir for closer ranged combat and CC opportunities.

All in all, good changes which bring some fun variety to HB.

While I'm in no position to judge effectiveness of new options, they indeed remove what used to make HB feel like an unfinished sectorial (like Lasiqs being left hanging, no medic in a unit that is considered masters of autonomy, Yasbir not working with most of our links on top of being questionable in general etc.).

Of course, we didn't get something obviously bonkers like Govad FTO I wishlisted (but wasn't really expecting) or something like smoke on non-infiltrating Yasbir which would easily give him a clear and powerful role, but that's absolutely fine. Infinity has seen too much optimization lately already.

Asayib core sounds very fun. It has sufficient punch and access to regenerating 2W Doctor+ and a ton of toolboxiness that comes with Muyibs and wildcards. It's expensive, but potentially fun. Not sure about being optimal, but fun. And it still has Ghazis around and potentially mine profiles in it for you to be able to semi-safely park it somewhere in the middle of a match.

However, 2pt (and 0,5swc sometimes) for +1 damage is very, very questionable. Especially in a sectorial that deals in very impactful 5pt / 7pt+0,5swc pieces.

my read on the 2swc Lasiq is it’s balanced by the 0swc haris option. Also maybe it’s just my opinion but I never feel starved for swc in HB, so i’ll pay that little extra for dmg 16.

These changes are definitely good though, and they make me excited to continue playing HB. They’re my favorite sectorial, but I feared they’d fall by the wayside with Ramah and Shas

Perhaps one day I will improve my Infinity fundamentals and stop deploying like a moron (ha ha, fat chance).
Until then, I will have 6 SWC used in every HB list I make because Daylamis are a thing.

Honestly my list building is probably a result of me never sticking my infiltration rolls and missing my panzerfausts one too many times... Until I can roll below an 8 I will have 4.5 swc in every list lol

Well, using 7pt variant is also an option. But otherwise you can indeed expect spending about 3 pts to launch one of your folks close to enemy DZ and suck it up with deployment of the rest of them on table edges, most probably.

I love the fact you can now have a Govadless Govad Fireteam:
    Hassassin Bahram
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]5
ASAWIRA Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, Shock CCW. (2 | 43)
ASAWIRA AP Rifle + Light Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 42)
HASSASSIN HUSAM YASBIR (Holoprojector L1) Rifle + Light Shotgun, Nanopulser / Pistol, Viral CCW, Knife. (0 | 27)
LEILA SHARIF Hacker (Killer Hacking Device) Shock Marksman Rifle, D-Charges / Breaker Pistol, Knife. (0 | 20)
AVICENNA Combi Rifle, Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 27)

    2 SWC | 159 Points

    Open in Infinity Army

It makes the Govad fireteam much more usable if you replace all the govads *just a little sarcasm*.

As for the Lasiqs, I like the haris option with the wildcard options. I lets you bring more options. I felt the Lasiqs were always left behind due to lack of specialists.

Wow, excellent! Haris of Laiq, second Lasiq, and Leila Sharif, plus Asa doc + Asa spit + Muyib HRL, FO, and viral mines for 153/3. Throw in a Fiday, Barid, and some Daylamis and Ghazis and you're there. Very nice. Almost worth having two Lasiq with rifles though so you can have Fatality on the light shotgun as well...but Damage 16 viral sniper is also so so nasty. And a Haris or Core with 1-2 Govads plus friends is a pretty good deal too.

    (corrected - thanks @Bort )

You know, I always was the guy to talk to if you were after some dismissive hate towards Govads, but seeing CB giving away mimetism like candy I'm not sure about anything anymore.

So maybe having some sort of Govad in that Fireteam may actually be not that terrible of an idea.
Then again, if you can get into range, Asawira in a Core is only 1 BSE worse of a shooter than Govad in a Core, that is against anything with visual mods (and 2 BSE better against anything without).

Govads were almost tempting for a moment when Ghulam in a Core or Asawira in a Haris were best things we could do in terms of throwing dice at problems.

I was having the same idea.
    • Fireteam core with Asawira Spitfire armies point piece.
    • Lasiq fireteam gives solid AROS. Don't forget Lasiqs have Forward deployment L1 in the current ITS season
    • Barid to drop repeaters to extend Leila range so she can stay an ARO piece.
    • Fiday & Irregulars to round out the list.

I think it all depends on what you expect to face. Given the amount of Mimetism and ODD out there, Govad HMG is a decent bet. He's also 14/0.5 cheaper than Asawira Spifire.

Point being, Asawira is only very slightly worse against visual mods than best Govad shooting profiles. But of course Asawira doesn't have their rangebands to keep claiming the same when targets are out of Spitfire range.

But indeed, other than that they have rather different set of merits, all things considering, especially when you don't have to take basically full AVA of not so cheap Govads in order to get benefits of some profiles you want to use. That's probably their best selling point this update introduced.

Hell, you may want to have some Govad with short-ranged weapon in a link despite having Asawiras with Spitfires and BSGs because you may want something to semi-safely clear Jammers on your way. Or camo'd Jammers, even. That's one hell of a consideration these days.

Just a heads up, Lasiq fatality sniper is 2 swc not 1.5. So you'd be .5 over if I'm counting correctly
