I'm starting this just to generally speak about Spiral Corps. we can talk about any of the units, tactics whatever you want to discuss but I have an opening question. What's everyone's thoughts on the non-Tohaa units included? Uses, holes they fill, trick that could be used? Helots x3 Brawlers x4 Wardiver x2 Cube Jager x2 Anaconda x1
I'm pretty excited for Helots. :) Brawlers at AVA4 make me sad unless there's something that can wildcard in to make a full link.
I'm sure there will be... Why Helots? What profile(s)? Cube Jager has worked righteously for me in the past taking down a Duo of Geckos with E/Mitter. It walk in to cover, in good range and shut em down.
both the Shock MMR and the SMG+LRL are very solid profiles. Helots are just really really good at their job, the cost of removing them is always much more than the cost of having them
Given Spiral Corps' apparent ability to generate saturation zones via Stratuscloud, the Red Fury might also be worth a look-in.
Make your opponent spend orders to remove them. Neurocinetics makes doing that dangerous too... I'm feeling that. Oh nice I didn't think about that... B4 to B3 they could move with the Draal Saboteurs as a support unit. That's smart.. learning something everyday. So on that note in the same context what would you run with Kriigel Agents and Mirrorball? Also does mirror ball move with the Kriigel Agent or is it static once activated?
Yeah, the're one of the puzzle pieces that makes Varuna in reactive such an incredible list. We'll be able to duplicate some of the others with Kriiegal and possibly tri-core linked taagma snipers.
I'm diggin through the Army App... Maybe I'm missing something I'm seeing a lot of marksman rifles..but where will the Linkable Snipers come from?
Spiral corps mostly isn't in Army yet. But the Taagma have the tri-core and MSV2 viral sniper profiles.
SC will be unlocked in Army on March 27th if I remember correctly. Once it's out, you can expect a lot of discussion :) In general, I'm really excited about MSV2 Viral Sniper Taagma in a Tri-Core link. Holoecho 1 lets you disguise it as something ineffectual at long range which could prove a nasty surprise. With Light Smoke Grenade Launcher on the Kriigel, we have a nice combo there against anything without MSV, and against models with MSV, the Kriigel conveniently also brings Mirror Ball, which another strong attack piece such as Neema can leverage to contest MSV without worrying about retaliation. This is a very strong core toolbox in my opinion. Draal Saboteur + Helot Militia might be another interesting combo, if Strato Cloud persists into the reactive turn. As far as the Helots go, there are still no official models, so I'm really excited about which loadouts they are going to release. I'm hoping for a box with all 4 loadouts, but that remains to be seen. I'm a bit bummed that they are in SC, because I also play Varuna and hoped they were unique to that sectorial, but I guess the hot new toys need to be spread around a bit. The Kiiutan Imposter with SMG + E/Mauler and a potential Symbio Mate/Bomb attached looks like a nasty road block you can place in front of the enemy DZ. With a Draal Saboteur Minelayer nearby, you can clutter up an approach vector for the enemy pretty effectively, while covering another with the Taagma Sniper and Helots.
If the Helots are getting the actual PanO Helot profiles, that'd be pretty mean. Libertos are less interesting to me. The Anaconda is going to be their only TAG, Spiral lost the Gorgos. I think the Anaconda is better than the Gorgos, anyways. Wardrivers are decent hackers, sixth sense is nice for a hacker to have!
After looking at all the tactics with Varuna using Helots are looking like a must have. Just as ARO speed bumps. I'm wondering how useful the Anaconda will be in Spiral Corps?
HMG and 'Faust instead of AP Spitfire and Flammenspeer. Though I think CB changed the Symbiont-armor fire vulnerability in N3, I keep defaulting to 'light an Artichoke on fire, give them 1 wound from it and they're done'
Nope, I think it's a "lose the symbiont if you fail against Fire". And the symbiomate has just changed to "obligatory, +9 ARM +9 BTS Total Inmunity single use" gear... so shoot the gorgos with a peashooter, and then with a cannon XD
